Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Zelda Mon Feb 15, 2016 10:35 pm

With the ceremony drawing nearer, there were many preparations that needed to be made, and nothing went unchecked by Zelda. To be honest, it drove her a bit over the edge, as every single detail needed her approval since she was now in charge of all the planning. There seemed to be so much that needed to be arranged - the color of the curtains, the dishes that were brought out, what would be served at the grand feast, and most importantly - who would be sitting at the main table. For the most part, Zelda had all this planned out. The Royalty across the three kingdoms and their advisers were allowed seats. The hero's family, and of course Saria.

One of the biggest peeves that drove Zelda nuts though, was the the practice of the ceremony dance. Zelda was dreading this. It was to reenact the bond between the hero and the goddess long ago as they danced to the Ballad of the Goddess. Not only would she have to get up close and personal with Link, but she'd have to do it in front of hundreds of people - one of those people being King Galadhion, who was not happy about the hero's arrival according to Percy's letters.

So when it had came time to begin rehearsing the dance, of course Zelda was nowhere to be found. She did her best to avoid it for as long as possible. She was hiding in her secret garden within the inner courtyard. It was her one place to get away, where the gardens were so thick, she could hide within the flowers and shrubs. Of course, it was far enough away from the doorway where she could get away with playing her lyre, strumming along to the goddess music.

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Link Mon Feb 15, 2016 11:16 pm

The days until the grand ceremony that would unveil the legendary reincarnation of the hero were counting down and at quite the fast rate as well. The castle was busier as of late, setting up preparations for the event that was to occur. While the castle seemed busy at work the townspeople were thoroughly eager as well, quite enthusiastic to see just who this hero was. Out of everybody in the castle there was barely a handful that knew of the hero’s identity.

Link himself was never really looking forward to such a ceremony, but knew that this ceremony was not just for himself but for the people of Hyrule as well. For the people he knew that the revelation would motivate them, encourage them to fight for their country and land, but at the same time it was also a sign of worse times. Where ever the hero appears darkness always follows, this was what the legends always showed. It was up to Link to bring light to the land of Hyrule, it was the only purpose that he was brought into this world. Link was up for such a task, he was ready for any danger and ready to charge in without hesitation, but he was unsure when it came to dealing with others.

There was a big burden that was placed onto his shoulders, but Link was ready to hold such a burden. Link spent his time working upon his swordplay. He needed to be ready for whatever would come his way so that he would be able to protect all those that he cared for. His training was going rather smooth however it was placed at a halt the moment he was informed about rehearsal for a dance. Of course Link was quite unsure about such a thing as he never really danced, but it surprised him the moment he realized that Zelda had not shown up. After waiting for a while Link decided it would be best to search out the princess himself, a bit worried that something might have happened to her.

He walked along the castle, searching a great deal for the princess until a sudden sound was caught by his ear. “hmm? Music?” Link said as he ran to the source of the sound. He ran until he eventually reached a garden in which Link eventually stopped. Noticing the princess play her sound he merely stood in place, a bit mesmerized by the turn as he watched her play.

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Zelda continued to play her tune, without much notice to Link's sudden presence, though as soon as she had finished playing, she sighed, setting the lyre in her lap as she took a deep breath, taking in the aroma of the flowers around her. When she finally opened her eyes and looked around, her pupils dilated to the sight of the hero, feeling as though her heart dropped into her stomach and she forgot how to breathe. Her cheeks flushed heavily and she immediately stopped up in defense.

"H-how long have you been standing there!?" she asked in surprise. Did he simply follow the music out of interest, or was he looking for her? She felt incredibly embarrassed - she was never one to show off her talents to people, which is why she always preferred to practice in private. The only people whom she really ever showed her musical skills to were Killian, Zeran, and Percy.

"I uh..." she sighed, slumping her shoulders a bit. "Let me guess, everyone's wondering where I am for the dance, right?" she frowned in defeat. The entire situation gave her more anxiety than the idea of fighting on the front lines of battle, which was strange. Zelda - the princess of Hyrule, soon to be queen. Trained in the arts of magic and war, and yet she couldn't bring herself to get intimate with a boy.

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Link Mon Feb 15, 2016 11:43 pm

The music that was played by Zelda was quite soothing to the ears. He closed his eyes and listened to her play quite content, the outdoor weather being beautiful was something that made his time listening to her music even more lovely. Once the music stopped and Link looked forward once more, his eyes widened the moment the princess showed shock and asked how long he was standing there. Immediately he looked downwards and scratched the back of his head. “Sorry princess, I got caught up listening to the beautiful music that I did not realize it was rude of me to stare like this” Link said totally embarrassed about the situation.

Looking up at her he kept his distance a bit from her, remaining in the same spot that he stood when he entered the garden. When she responded to the reason he had come to the garden Link could only nod calmly to confirm her thoughts. She seemed extremely distraught and it made Link quite curious as to what made her feel such a thing. Over time, though he had spent much time with her he still spent enough time to consider her a friend. If there was something troubling her he would do whatever it took to ease her troubles.

When she spoke about not going to the dance his eyes widened a bit, but his face remained calm as a soft smile formed on his face. “Come now, my dancing won’t be that bad” Link said speaking a small joke in order to lighten up the mood a bit. He could see that the princess was nervous about such a dance and while he was nervous it did not seem as bad as what the princess showed upon her face.

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Zelda Tue Feb 16, 2016 12:31 am

The princess looked down at his words and sighed, shrugging her arms when he had mentioned that his dancing wasn't that bad. She didn't want him to think that he had done something wrong to get her to avoid it, she just... didn't have much experience expressing feelings, especially ones such as the intimacy of such an important dance. The dance was somewhat of a romantic kind, similar to that of one you would have for a marriage.

In fact, Zelda just didn't have any experience with that kind of stuff to begin with. Sure, she knew that for years it was said she and Perseus would get married, but it was simply just a marriage. It was the duty of the princess to ensure that their people were safe by joining marriage alliances. She had no actual romantic feelings for Perseus despite them being dear friends.

But Link? He was on a totally different plane of feelings for her. Some days it was hard to be around him. As the two of them have gotten to know each other, she found it more and more difficult to really express herself to him. And perhaps to him he felt she distance herself because she was disinterested, but it was quite the opposite. In the end, she was just afraid of rejection, like any other person. With the rumors of the hero and princess ending up together, but with the alliance of Labrynna on the line... she had no idea what to do.

"I'm not worried about your dancing, I just..." she started, trying to figure out how to complete her thought. "Well, I've never danced with a boy before," she admitted. "It's such an intimate dance, and if it's with you, I mean... I don't know," she frowned. "Especially with King Galadhion watching..."

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Link Tue Feb 16, 2016 12:52 am

Link’s attempt at making the princess at least calm down had failed quite a deal, but he definitely would not quit in the slightest. Though she held the air of a ruler, after having spent time with her Link was able to see that she was no different than any other in the land of Hyrule. Originally he was quite nervous talking with her and though some of those nerves still remained, he was more comfortable talking with her. Unfortunately for Link she did not share the same feeling. She just seemed nervous when dealing with him and he always wondered if he was at fault for this.

LHe wanted to help her and that was all he thought of at the moment, his own nerves about the dance taking a back seat. He closed his eyes and sighed, his smile still on his face. Slowly he took a few steps forward to close the distance between them a bit. He took a few steps, but stopped midway in order to keep a distance between them as he honored the princess’s space. “I know how you are feeling princess, I feel the same way” Link said before closing his eyes “but you needn’t place so much stress upon such an event” Link said before opening his eyes once more as he stared into the princess’s eyes. “When the dance occurs I want you not to worry about anything…just relax. Close your eyes and ignore everything.  Ignore the eyes of King Galadhion, of the people, even me…just ignore all of it and listen to the music….let the music guide your body and focus on nothing else. I want you to enjoy this dance to the fullest, dance for no one other than yourself...this is all I want” Link said softly

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Zelda Tue Feb 16, 2016 1:00 am

Zelda avoided his gaze when he had stepped closer to her, closing the distance between them as he then spoke. He had mentioned that she should ignore everything, focusing on the music and the dance... but how could she do that? She had never shared a moment such as that with anyone. It was a huge moment, not only for the ceremony, but also for her. It was not only that she had to close her distance with him, but she was reenacting as her former self - the Goddess of Hylia. It was such a big step in her life, the realization that she truly was the goddess in human form.

Several words Link spoke had stuck out to the princess as she slowly looked up at him, blinking a moment as she tried to play the words in her head again. "You're so calm about all of this," she mumbled. "How can you be so calm about everything? I haven't seen you lose your composure once since you've been revealed as the hero. I wish I had your patience," she smiled faintly. "I've been nothing but a nervous wreck since the reveal. I suppose I felt as though I was burdening not only my destiny, but yours as well. I didn't think once about how you felt with all of this and I apologize."

Her cheeks were warm with embarrassment as she looked away from him again. "Do you truly not care for anything other than my comfort during this event?" she asked, tilting her head. "I've never met anyone so selfless..."

Was he that calm in front of the princess? Link never truly realized such a thing as it wasn’t that easy for him to speak to her as well. Back when he was revealed to be a hero he did indeed find it a total shock and it made him worry, but his thoughts had changed ever since that time. Link had accepted his duty and was ready to go through with it, even if he was nervous. He could not falter in the slightest. He carried the hopes of many and couldn’t let them down.

“You’re right to say this…it was a total shock back then and I didn’t know how to comprehend it…I didn’t feel worthy for such a title and I still don’t, but I’ve accepted it. Me worrying will not make the situation any better. I need to be strong so that I can shoulder the worries of others and dispel them” Link said closing his eyes as he spoke with a smile. “You needn’t apologise in the slightest, if it is my destiny to fight for Hyrule then I willingly accept” Link said taking one step closer.

“It is true that all I truly wish if for you to enjoy yourself…I want you to be happy” Link said opening his eyes as he looked at her. “I wouldn’t say selfless, but I’ll do whatever it takes to make those I care about smile, that’s all there is to it” Link said. He wasn’t quite looking forward to such a ceremony, but if it meant the discomfort of Zelda due to his sake then he needed to change that.

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Zelda Tue Feb 16, 2016 11:52 pm

Zelda listened to what he had to say, sighing for a moment as she began to understand. Worrying wouldn't do anything except falter him, so he had to try and be strong for everyone. The princess had attempted to do the same thing, but it seemed to backfire. With every smile she gave, an underlying worry loomed over it. Especially now, more than ever, with the vivid nightmares continuing to haunt her in her sleep.

"Happy..." she mused. "For almost twenty years, I've been told a lot of things from the people who raised me. They want me to be strong. They want me to be just. They want me to be healthy. To be the ruler Hyrule needs," she sighed. "I can't remember the last time someone told me they wanted me to be happy. It kind of plants a seed inside of you after a while. You just assume that being happy isn't apart of the package when it comes to ruling a kingdom."

Despite this, she remembers her father being very happy. Of course, for the first few years of her life, he was always very sad. The loss of her mother took a toll on him, but he endured for his daughter, slowly returning to his normal self.

"My own father didn't believe me when I brought attention to the visions I was having," her voice wavered a bit. "Killian was even skeptical at first. He doesn't believe in the legend of the hero, but he puts up with it because he cares about me," she explained. "Perseus said he believed me, but in Labrynna, the stories of the cycle are not very popular."

In that moment of their conversation, Zelda seemed to zone off for a moment, her gaze becoming smaller as she stared off behind him without words as her mind drifted. The worries were coming back. At this rate, it was as if she wouldn't even make it to see the great darkness - the stress would kill her before that even happened. "The last words my father spoke to me before he died were 'there is no such thing as the hero anymore."

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Link Wed Feb 17, 2016 12:28 am

Link frowned as he listened to her words. He always felt the life of a commoner was immensely harsh and he felt this growing up. After his father passed away he worked tirelessly trying to provide for both his sister and himself. Even when he gotten in as a trainee in the castle he didn’t do it because he wanted to follow his dream, but he did it so he could gain more money to provide for his sister. Even through all he had been through Link could never say that the life of a commoner was harsher than that of royalty. He believed that they held their own problems, their own griefs, and their own sacrifices.

He listened through all that Zelda had to say. He listened to her speak about all the work that she had to go through and how it prevented her from even looking after herself. Not only that but the very dreams that she held, the very thing that she believed in was something that almost nobody truly believed in. Link couldn’t help listening to this anymore, the very moment she finished her words Link immediately walked up to her.

His footsteps were soft but quick. He immediately closed the distance between the two of them and immediately grabbed the sides of her shoulders. “Enough of this!” Link said as he stared down at her with a worried look on his face. While his grip on her was firm, it was not too tight that it would hurt the princess at all. “You needn’t place such a great burden upon yourself alone! If nobody will believe you then let them not believe! But just know that I believe in your words so let me help you with this burden! I'll do whatever it takes to take that burden away, even if my life is forfeit!” Link said

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Post by Zelda Wed Feb 17, 2016 12:42 am

When Zelda had completed her thoughts, she didn't expect Link to react so quickly. Before she could even look up and recollect herself, he was closing the distance, grabbing her arms just tight enough to startle her as her eyes widened. She stared at him in surprise as he spoke, almost angry with his words, though she knew it was not at her.

She had never seen anyone react so strongly to her words. Did he truly care that much? Her cheeks flushed heavily as she watched him. When he had spoken of letting him help her with this burden, she felt a pit form in her stomach, as though she was nauseous. It was such a foreign feeling and she couldn't pin point it to any feeling other than it being overwhelming.

Her breathing hitched a bit as her throat went dry, just staring into his eyes, trying to analyze every bit of emotion on his face. "Link..." she didn't even know what to say. She could barely think. For some reason, she felt this strange... familiarity with being so close to him. As if she was looking into his eyes and seeing their past selves and all their emotions. "I would give my life before asking you to carry my burdens for me..." her voice wavered.

Link looked into her eyes as she looked up to him. He could not say if Zelda felt the same, but he did feel there was something tying them together. Whether it was some sort of past or destiny that caused him to feel as such it did not matter to Link at all. All he did know was that he did not like seeing this girl upset and if a friend was distraught he would do whatever it took to fix it.

“Then don’t ask me to carry your burden…I will do so regardless so long as I stand before you” Link said calmly, his eyes filled with a mixture of both worry and determination. This feeling he felt while speaking with Zelda, it was more than just that of friends. His heart raced every time he saw her and he just wanted to be with her whenever he could. He accepted a knight such as himself would never have a chance with a princess, but if all he could do was make her happy, even if she were to marry and find love in the arms of another, then he would be content

Zelda noticed that his grasp on her did not falter as he spoke, but her mouth became dry as her lip quivered a bit. She had no words for him as she simply watched his eyes with her own, feeling the slight breeze against her cheeks as they simply gazed at one another. There was something resonating at her core when she looked at him, and when she watched his eyes, she could see that nobody has ever looked at her the way that he did before.

This had to be some twisted fate, or destiny trying to explain to her that no matter what anyone would say, the Goddess and the Hero were meant to be. She didn't say a word, her hand slowly lifting from its fallen state as it then rested upon his cheek. She had a very deep gaze, unmoving as her breathing became a bit staggered from the overwhelming anxiety.

Link continued to stare down upon the princess’s eyes, the beautiful eyes that just seemed far too familiar to him, eyes that he felt he had looked into for a long time. His heart was beating faster, his body feeling the effects of his nervousness. With the hand of the princess being placed onto his cheek his body was beginning to realize just how close he truly was to the princess and it frightened him a bit, but his mind was utterly clear.

“For the Princess Zelda I will do whatever it takes to make her happy…you have my word”
Link said as he stared down upon her face. The feelings inside he felt were starting to overwhelm him. Link closed his eyes as he stepped in closer and lowered his face to hers slowly. In the single moment his emotions took the best of him and with it he placed his lips against her own, holding the back of her head with one hand.

Zelda was a bit shaken by his words. Though they were gentle and hush, they sent a current through her spine, making it hard to breathe. She felt abashed for even having to ask this of him, but she knew that if she did, things would be much easier for her to accept. She pursed her lips for a moment, staying still as she held his face, her fingers pushing his hair from his eyes. She wasn't sure why she was doing it, but it felt like a natural reaction for her, despite never being intimate with anyone.

Before she could react, his lips were against hers, and she felt herself slowly shut down. His hand slowly moved to the back of her head, supporting her. For a moment, she couldn't think. She could barely breathe. But in this moment, it was as though the feelings of a thousand memories were unlocked. These feelings were so immense, they were inhuman. It truly was the love between a Goddess and her human. Her other hand slid up against his other cheek as she closed her eyes, kissing him back gently, giving into it.

King Galadhion was going to kill her.

The kiss he performed with the princess, it felt natural and nostalgic despite this being his first kiss. His body had acted on its own and his mind was as if it was in a complete daze, allowing him to do what he truly wished for. The mental self-barrier he had set up that made him believe that a mere knight could never be with a princess had crumbled down in an instant and allowed him to follow what his heart truly desired. Despite having only known her not that long in this moment he knew only one thing and that was that he loved the Princess Zelda.

He placed his other hand around her waist while the other held her head. The kiss between the two of them last for a moment before eventually Link finally pulled away slowly from the princess. He lowered his hand from her head and gently placed it on her back as he stared down at her face calmly, continuing to hold her close to his own body. He didn’t know what to think at the moment, but all he did know was that he just wanted to look at the beautiful princess before him.

Post by Zelda Fri Feb 19, 2016 12:19 am

Zelda felt his lips part from hers for a moment, to which she opened her eyes, staring at him, almost with surprise. Her cheeks were red beyond relief, and her hands hand slowly slipped from his cheeks and to his chest, watching him cautiously to see how he would react. He still seemed so... gentle about it. As if this was everything he had planned. She didn't expect him to do something like this, though... she kind of hoped it would happen.

"I... wasn't expecting this," she admitted, smiling sheepishly as she looked away. "I heard the rumors, and I should have seen this coming from the moment I met you. I knew there was a reason I trusted you so easily." It was truly amazing to her that a love could last centuries, as the two were reborn over and over, always finding each other.

"I... I think we need to keep this our little secret for now... At least until the right moment," she looked back up at him worriedly. "King Galadhion may not see eye to eye on our relationship... and I won't have him ruin this."

Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link] Empty Re: Avoiding Preparations [Private - Link]

Ever since his lips separated from hers his body wished he stayed a bit more. Link felt the hand that had held his cheek move down towards his chest and his eyes widened a bit as his mind had finally begun to catch up with his body. He looked down at the hand and then towards the face of the princess and noticed how red it had become. On her face was something that he had been trying to put on her ever since he began the conversation in the garden and it was beautiful. All he wanted to see was a mere smile on her face.

Link closed his eyes and let out a sigh as he listened to Zelda speak. Raising the hand that rested on her back, Link smiled softly as he brushed some of her hair away from her face. “These feelings I feel for you, I feel them because of the person you are now and not just because of our past…” Link said before closing his eyes once more as he let out a more exasperated sigh. “If it will make things easier for you then I shall keep it our little secret” Link said opening his eyes as he gave her a wink. The fact that he had to keep it a secret never truly bothered him, but the fact that King Galadhion was causing her such discomfort really bothered him a great deal. Regardless he needed to make her not worry.
