There would be a series of changes once Zelda had taken the throne - not that she had intended on changing any rules while she was in charge, but there were definitely things that she would be doing that she did not recall happening in the past. First of all, she planned on fighting alongside her fellow knights of Hyrule. She would not sit idly by while they fought to protect a world that would no longer be worth living in if all hope was lost. She also would not allow herself to be dismissed when a King would come into play.

She would not marry yet. She wasn't ready. For goodness sake, a war was upon them, her father had just passed, and she was in the middle of so much that she had no time for such trivial politics. She was just thankful that Percy was an understanding man, and that he would not force her to do anything she did not want. It was in his nature, and she honestly wished she could love him more than a friend, but it just wasn't there.

As she arrived to the royal chamber where the ceremony would take place, she took a deep breath, looking over the papers of what would happen and in what order. Wearing her ceremonial garb for the rehearsal of this event, she slowly approached the entrance and watched as several of her advisers seemed to crowd about the altar. Frowning as she looked down, she slowly inched down the center where the carpet that rolled out to the altar was and stayed silent.

The advisors turned to face her, raising brows as they smiled lightly at how presentable she looked in the ceremonial gown. "I know this is just a practice, but you do look absolutely gorgeous!" one of them proceeded to say. Chuckling sheepishly, Zelda shrugged, thanking them as she then stood at the steps, the priest then arriving. "Are you ready to begin the rehearsal?" he asked. She nodded.

As the priest opened the book, Zelda kneeled down against the stairs, holding her hands out in front of her as she bowed her head, closing her eyes. The priest began to speak, giving a hymn on the ancestors of the Royal Family. He then went on to talk about her father and all of the good things he has accomplished, along with her mother - his wife, also named Zelda. It was a surprise to her really - for the past several years, no King of Hyrule has had a son to take the throne, They've all had daughters, who would be heirs, while other princes would marry into the family and take over Hyrule if the princess wished not to.

This would be different. Zelda insisted that she wished to rule the country herself until she felt comfortable enough to marry. And though she has expressed her dislike for the arranged marriage between her and Perseus, many did not listen because it was an oath that King Galadhion of Labrynna had pushed to keep in the absence of her father. Perseus continued to push away the idea, putting it off as much as possible to give her time to figure things out.

The Goddess and the Hero were meant to be together. Wasn't that how the story went? And it just so happened the Priest was now giving a sermon on the cycle, despite it being a "legend". With Zelda just figuring out that she was the reincarnated goddess, this meant that her hero was waiting for her. Their souls were meant to reunite together. They were bound, and while she did not know this man, they were meant to be in love. She had to find him before it was too late.

Perseus even insisted she look for him. He, too, knew that she was meant for another and it was comforting to her to know that he was sacrificing his love for her to allow her to be happy. "Zelda, please step up." the priest suddenly commanded. Looking up and blinking a few times, Zelda clearned her throat quietly and then stood up on the altar. The priest, taking what appeared to be the holy relic of the family, in the shape of the Triforce then stepped over to her, staring at her intently for a long moment.

"You are the queen of this land. You are the holder of the key that leads to the Sacred Realm. Queen Zelda - protector of Hyrule, reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia and Sage of Time - blessed by the Old Gods and watched over by Nayru herself - we bow down to you, our new leader, who will bring us up from the dark times that lie ahead." Handing her the relic, she placed it in her hands gently and then turned around, holding it up to the empty chairs that would soon be full.

Now, if only she didn't have to practice this twice every week leading up to the ceremony.
