The robbery contract. Empty The robbery contract.

Aberham spent very little time in Castle town once he was back. He got paid, ate some dinner, slept, and started looking for work again. Finding work legally was getting tough but finding it illegally was always doable. Due to his recent success as a guard for such a caravan, he was contacted with information regarding capturing one instead of defending him. If he was going to be a bandit he might as well get paid for it. He set off for the desert again, but this time had the money for a stagecoach. So the drive was much easier, and even had drinks! He was the one who was contacted, so there would be very little contract signing on the clients part. The stagecoach took him to a nearby town where he picked up a large amount of water.

Then he purchased a map and worked out where the stage coach would most likely be going. He figured it would be easy enough to rob if he could set a trap in the sand and break the wheels, before remembering the exact wording of the contract...

Description: A shipment of particularly valuable spices are being shipped to castle town. Someone really wants these spices so they put forth a contract on the black market for the shipment to instead be delivered elsewhere. The cart may have 2-3 lightly armed escorts. If you know how to fight you could probably succeed.
Requirements: Deliver the shipment to a different location than it was suppose to go.

So he had but one option wait for the cart to stop at night and attack it then. So he picked out an oasis near where their path for the day would be waiting and camped out there. Luckily the oasis had plenty of water to work with. So he hardly went thirsty. When the cart pulled up on the oasis and he heard the familiar clanking of glass spice bottles he knew he had chosen correctly. He saw one, two, three armed men get off of it. This would be the escort mentioned in the contract. After a moment he saw the merchant get out of the vehicle, as well as a driver. These people would be much more well traveled then the others. Someone came up to the oasis and cupped their hands for a drink. It was a woman that was part of the guard, and it wouldn't be the only woman he had killed.

He waited for the darkest part of the night to attack his prey, the woman stayed up to guard while the others had bedrolls laid out next to the cart. It looked like the woman armed with a mace had left a few lanterns on, so much for using the darkness against them. He drew his sword silently and walked forward into the light of the camp. The woman stood up, she was armed with a heavy mace and a shield. "Hey! Stay away buddy!" She called out to him, he gave no response but instead readied his weapon for combat. When he was within eight feet of the group she yelled. "WAKE UP! ALARM!" The other men groggily were drawn from their slumber, and reached for weapons of their own.

Aberham yelled out in effort and swung his sword in an overhead arch at the woman. She blocked with her shield and had a swing at him with her mace. Aberham had a much longer reach however, and the blow did not make it to him. The merchant was the quickest to fully awaken. "Bandit! Load up the wagon, RUN!" HE said jumping up on top and causing the horses to awaken. The others grabbed their bags and hopped on while Aberham was dueling the woman. He looked like he had the upper hand until she maced him right in the face. Luckily however he was a very sturdy helm and all he did was fall down. The driver pulled hard on the reigns and the horses took off in a gallop.

Aberham shot up and saw the woman jump onto the cart at the last second. He sheathed his sword and yelled "NOOOOO!!!" While running as fast as he could to the wagon. The woman waved goodbye and gave him an air kiss. That's when he saw that they had forgotten something in their haste. A rope had been left out, and it was tied to the wagons rear. Without a second top he sprinted as fast as he could towards it, leapt, and grabbed onto the rope as close to the cart as he could with both hands.

The woman was the only one who saw him, she stopped waving immediately and yelled to her companion. "Knife, KNIFE!" Aberham was holding on with all of his strength, and was being dragged though the desert like a plow by the horses. He had a new respect for the bandits he killed that were trying to dob a similar coach, it was hard! But he grit his teeth and pulled himself up hand after agonizing hand. The people on board were really having trouble cutting the rope, no one could find a knife and the few people that had sharp weapons were to long to cut the rope with! He got closer, and closer and closer. The driver drove his horses on with a sense of desperation. Who the heck was robbing them?

Finally someone found a knife when Aberham was almost within arms reach of the coach, he leaned over the side and sawed away as fast as he could with all the shaking of the cart. Just when the ope was about to give out he felt a cold metallic hand on his wrist and made a terrified scream as the knife was taken from his hand and he was stabbed in the Achilles heel. This sent him rolling off the cart into the night, where the blood would attract predators.

Aberham hauled himself up onto the cart and drew his blade. It was all over now, he knew he could take them all from here. A man armed with a short sword slashed at him, but such a clumsy strike on a surface with so much rocking did absolutely nothing to Aberhams shield. He slashed at him and caught him in the arm, leaving a bloody wound. The woman swung her mace in an ark but he blocked that as well and hit her back with his shield.

The merchant was yelling at the driver. "He's on the cart! Get him off" "How do you expect me to do that!?" "I don't know, make some sharp turns!" To which the driver immediately made a sharp adjustment causing everyone in the back to wobble and the merchant to go flying off the front and bust his head open on the only rock in miles. Aberham had finished the swordsman with a stab in the lung, he kicked him off the cart. It was just him and the woman now, and she gave up a good fight. She whipped around and bashed her mace into his shield over and over again. His arm threatened to break under all the pressure. But after a sharp wobble on the cart she lost her balance and Aberham stabbed her right through her spine.

She fell off the cart and into the dessert, her leg twitching. She would die of shock twenty minutes later, but pass out in twenty seconds. The driver stopped the wagon and begged for his life. Aberham wanted no such witnesses however, so he ended his life mercifully and commandeered the cart.

Before he arrived at he predetermined location tomorrow however, he found another bottle of the spice he was given for the last mission.

He figured it wouldn't be missed.
