Aberham never liked being a goon. He did not leave his family behind so that he could make a living giving people Chinese burns and breaking their thumbs. He left them so he could strike it rich as a hero and kill some monsters!
But today he found himself doing just that. A group of loan sharks were understaffed and agree'd to pay his normal rate in exchange for collecting the debt on three men. They owed some pretty heavy loan charges, after he made them all sign their names in blood on the contract he did so as well and set off to find the man in castle town. The first one was a cobbler, he needed the money to pay his taxes and he got immediately behind on the interest payment the next month. In addition to collecting thrity thousand rupees from the man he was expected to give him a lesson.
He walked into the store, ignoring the sign outside that said they were not open. It was very early in the morning. A kid was standing around the counter. He could not be a day over nine. "We're not open si-" "Get your father boy, I need to speak to him." The kid wanted to object but the heavily armed man standing in front of discouraged such thoughts.
Eventually an old man walked out of the back of the store. "What do you want? Why are you scaring my bo-" "I just need you to look at my boots old man!" Aberham lifted his leg and kicked the man like a stallion right in the face. Breaking his nose and sending him falling into the counter. Aberham grabbed him by his collar and got up in his face. The child screamed. "Your way behind on your payments cobbler. I am here to collect." The old man was a stubborn sort. "You'll get nothing from me you bully!" He said. He spit into the eye hole of Aberhams helm.
This pissed him off, he hauled him off the counter into the air and slammed him back down. The man cried out in pain, but looked no closer to giving him any money. The kid was crying and begging Aberham to stop. He saw a cobblers hail hammer lieing on the counter. He hit the man in the face a couple times. It did nothing good for his complexion. "You'll... Get... Nothing..." Said the man.
Aberham looked at his boy, and then let him go. "N-No, wait!" He said. The boy tried to step away from him but he had the arms of a basketball player. He reached over and grabbed his hand, forcing his hand onto the other side of the counter. "I'm not afraid to draw blood from a stone old man!" "Let go of me!" Said the boy trying to pull away, the armored fist was to much for him however. Aberham raised his hammer hand. "I will break every finger in his hand!"
"OK! Fine! I'll pay, just leave my boy alone." The man stood up and got his balance after one to many hits to the face. He retrieved a bag of gold rupees from his room. "Here, it's all we got you monster!" Aberham checked the bag. Yep, paid in full. He walked out of the shop, leaving a crying kid behind and a broke man who would not be able to work for days.
"Now was that so hard?"
The next debt belonged to a man who worked as a bartender in local tavern. He hardly ever left the place so catching him there would be most convenient. He walked inside, sat down and ordered an ale at the bar. Once it came to him he stood up and leaned in on the young man working the bar. "You owe us fifty thousand rupees, I am here to collect." He sat back down.
The man laughed him off. "Pfft, how do I know your not just some random jerk who knows bout what I owe? You turn around right now mate, you aint getting nothin." He took out a rag and started wiping down the counters right next to him. Abe sat their for a few moments, enjoyed his drink, when he had about finished half of it he stood up and hit his debtor in the face as hard as he could with it.
While he was reeling from the hit Aberham grabbed him by the shirt and forced his head onto the counter, where he took a fistful of the back of his scalp and shoved his face onto the new beer stain. He started rubbing his face on it like he was cleaning it with a rag. "You better take me seriously BOY! I will SHOVE!" HE slammed is head onto the counter. "Your!" *Slam "FACE!" *Slam "IN" *Slam "TO!" *Slam "THIS" *Slam "DOOR!" He pulled him up extra high this time and hit his face into the counter so hard that it broke and he fell on the floor. It was made out of oak to. Ouch.
"I'll pay you!" THe man said as best he could with his face so damaged. He crawled into another room, emptied out the safe and returned with his money.
"Thank you for your business. Please accept our credit again!"
The forth man was ironically a banker, and had plenty of money to spend. It was the largest, more than both of the other debts combined.
He walked up to the Bankers small estate and used to knocker. A servant answered the door. "Do you have any buisne-" "I need to have a word with your master." Aberham said. The man was not used to being cut off mid sentenced, but his master was expecting a debt collector at around this time. He opened the door and let him in. "My master will be with you shortly, would you like some tea?" Aberham briefly thought about weather he wanted a bitter cup of hot green leaf juice, then he remembered that he hated tea. "No, I will wait for him without a drink thank you."
He waited, and waited, he looked at the clock and saw that twenty minutes had passed. When he was done waiting, he waited some more. Eventually he stood up and started looking for him on his own. He walked into the kitchen where he found the servant preparing a boxed lunch. He turned around and hid the knife, pretending it was not there. "My master will be with you shortly." Aberham scoffed. "Yeah right, wheres the back door? Right through here isn't it."
Aberham pushed his way by the servant and opened the door. He found a man in a very nice suit and a suitcase, fiddling with the lock on the back gate. "Hey where are you going!" The man screamed in terror and tried to hop the fence. He was carrying a bag bigger than he was however, and could not vault it before Aberham could grab his legs and force him down. He grappled with him until he had him in a submission hold. "I don't have the money! This place is getting sold off in a few days! Don't hurt me!" He squeaked. Aberham hefted up the big solid suitcase and opened it by slamming it down onto the Bankers head.
The banker stopped moving, except for a twitch in his left ankle. Aberham checked the case and found a small fortune in gold rupees. He put them in a bag and ignored the fact that he had just killed a man. He walked by the servant once inside.
"Don't worry. We worked everything out."
