Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs] Empty Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs]

Post by Oliver Windhelm Sun Mar 01, 2015 10:58 am

All day Axel had been traveling across the dangerous fields of Hyrule, looking for a town that he could eat and drink in. He would have gone back to the one he was in last night, but he was the kind of man that didn't like to look back on past adventures and such, but instead moving on, even though it was now making him really hungry. All he had to eat today were fruits that fell out of trees which included apples, oranges, lemons, etc. They were good, but it didn't quite fill the mercenary's stomach like he hoped it would.

"Dammit, when will I make it to the next town? Am I cursed to forever eat fruits!" Axel shouted, though no one heard him from where he was now located. He had just entered a forest with dozens of tall trees that blocked a part of the bright sun.To clear his mind, Axel climbed on the closest branch to him and began jumping from branch to branch, taking an apple from a tree every now and then to attempt to get full. He did this for about an hour until he stopped on a branch to listen in on people coming this way.

"You see, we are lost!" shouted a man. Axel looked forward to see a group of five people. Three men and two women who were humans, and had very long ears, longer than Axel's actually. Two men and one woman were pale while the other two were of an olive shade. They were all in blue shorts and gray T-Shirts, and had what seemed to be camping gear. The man who shouted had on a blue cap with long dark brown hair sticking out of it, and he had pale skin. Axel decided to just wait there until they noticed him, which would be a while because they were a few dozen meters away.

"Oh, just great. We decide to go on a camping trip in a forest, and after we want to go back to our cozy homes, Jacob just has to lose the map we made!" shouted the pink-haired pale woman.

"Hey, come on guys! It was an honest mistake that any body could have made, heheh," replied an olive-skinned man who seemed to be this Jacob guy they were talking about. He had jet-black spikey hair.

"Yea guys. He didn't mean to lose the map, I think..." said the other woman in defense. She was olive-skinned and hand puffy brown hare, which was an oddity that Axel had never seen.

"Well, whoever's fault it is, we need to get out of here," replied the last pale-skinned man who was bald.

"Hmmm, travelers in the forest then? I just came from behind and might be able to show you the way that you want to go, for a few rupees of course, heheh" Axel said, abruptly ending the conversation between the five. He jumped off of the tree branch he was on and landed right in front of the group who were scared and stepped back a few feet.

"ORAAAAA!"

Rython had just finished sending a devastating uppercut to a would be thief, knocking him out cold. That was the last of them...a pile of bodies on the grass in some forest in the middle of nowhere. Now, Hyrule was at least a bit safer with these bandits out of commission. He had made sure that they wouldn't be causing anymore trouble anytime soon as most of them obtained broken bones such as arms and legs during the heat of battle. Rython tried not to kill any of them, but he knew that it was very hard to control his own power.

But, now that he cleaned the trash up, he looked around. Rython didn't actually know where he was..after all, he chased the hooligans here. When he searched the unconscious bodies, he found no maps. They must have either known this place by heart, or ram here in a panic.

Rython pinched the bridge of his nose, a little angry and exasperated. Sometimes, he wondered if this hero business was worth it. Hopefully, he would find his way out of the forest in a timely manner, but knowing his luck that wouldn't happen. First, he would need to find some food. That wouldn't be a problem. Animals roamed the forest, and fruits and nuts were abundant.

As he wandered through the forest, hoping that he would find an exit of some sort, he eventually found a small group of people. They didn't seem insane or like they would eat him alive. Not that they could, of course. They all looked like shrimps!

"Hey! Uh...are you guys lost like me? I was busy kicking some evil ass, then, I realized I'm not very familiar with this place, haha..."

Hopefully, someone had a map of some sort. When Rython got home, he would make sure that he bought a map from the shop so a situation like this wouldn't happen again..

"Hey! Uh...are you guys lost like me? I was busy kicking some evil ass, then, I realized I'm not very familiar with this place, haha..." said a man with purple hair and blue eyes who came to the right of the group, causing the five to back up even more. Axel was curious who this 'hero' was, but for now he had to focus on getting rupees.

"Um, excuse me sir, but I was just offering these good people my assistance out of this place. Maybe I can help you as well for a small fee," Axel said, looking at the man with a smile. While he was doing so it seemed like the five were discussing something in a group circle.

"Are you crazy? These people look like they will kill us after we give the pink-haired dude the cash! He has a freaking sword!" whispered the olive-skinned woman, but it was just loud enough for Axel to hear.

"Don't worry Cathy, I took a few martial arts classes. If he tries anything I will beat him up and take our money back, heheh," replied Jacob.

"Welp, we have to take the chance, otherwise we will die of starvation," said the pale-skinned girl who was revealed to be named Jessica when Jacob and Cathy began agreeing with her.

"What about you two, Mark and John?" asked Jacob towards the pale man with the cap who was Mark and then the other pale bald man who was John. They both nodded but had on facial expressions of concern. Jacob then walked towards Axel and gave him the rupees he asked for.

"Alright dude, you got a deal. Get us out of here please," Jacob said, and then the six of them began to move out, going towards the exit.

"You can come if you have rupees to give, unless any of you five wish to pay for him?" Asekd Axel who had on a devious smile while looked back at the group and the strange man who came afterwards while they walked. The group looked at the man and then quickly shook their heads, so Axel stopped the walking and held out his hand, waiting for this man to respond.

Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs] Empty Re: Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs]

Rython pointed at Axel, rather annoyed at his greedy, snakelike nature. He grit his teeth, and began a little speech.

"Look! What's wrong with you, man? Don't you think it's wrong to take advantage of all these lost people? We're all humans here..we should be helping each other out, not swindling each other out of the other's rupees! Sir...don't let the greed corrupt your mind! Follow the path of JUSTICE!"

After this, he struck a little flamboyant and goofy pose. The civilians looked at Rython like he was insane, but he was too caught up in his crusade of justice that he didn't even take the time to notice.

But then, he realized, beating this guy up wouldn't solve anything at all, and would make these citizens more afraid of him and less likely to follow him.

"But...in the interests of pursuing justice in the long term, even though I could definitely beat your ass, break all your bones and leave you for the animals..."

He dug into his pockets, throwing thirty rupees to the man. Also, another reason Rython had not beat up this man yet was because he was the only way out. It could possibly take him days, or even weeks in a worst case scenario to get out of here...and he didn't know much about the plant and animal life here.

Rython secretly had a plan. No, he wouldn't give his rupees up permanently. Once they were taken out of the forest, Rython would attack and take his and the other's money back. Something about this guy made Rython want to punch him in the face so bad..probably because he was so cringe.

"Well? Are we ready to go? The thirty rupees were all I had on me, so, guess I'm gonna starve to death if it isn't enough..heheh."

"Look! What's wrong with you, man? Don't you think it's wrong to take advantage of all these lost people? We're all humans here..we should be helping each other out, not swindling each other out of the other's rupees! Sir...don't let the greed corrupt your mind! Follow the path of JUSTICE!" was the crap that came out of this stranger's mouth, then he struck a rather odd pose. Axel thought his words were purely absurd! Rupees were the key to an adventurer's survival, as it supplies food, water, a place to sleep, and many other human wants and needs. To not make a living the way a person wants to is like telling him he is a slave! Sure he was generally a nice guy, but even Axel had to make some rupees, so he began doing the only thing he knew best, which was the mercenary business.

"Well dude, to be honest it is quite possible to live in this forest, if you wanted the plain and simple life. A ton of fruits, lakes galore. It is not like I would be condemning any of you to death. I need to make a living, just like we all do. Can you really hate a guy for doing that?" the pink-haired man asked. The other five were quite angry at Axel after hearing what the stranger said, about to demand what he was, but Axel's words made them think about it. They decided not to speak after that, either because they agreed with Axel or because they just wanted to get out of there.

"But...in the interests of pursuing justice in the long term, even though I could definitely beat your ass, break all your bones and leave you for the animals..." he said, then pulling out 30 rupees, which didn't mean shit in Hyrule. Axel took the money however, because he really did not want to deal with this at the moment.

"Ah, I guess I will just be claiming the rest of the rupees when we meet sometime after this then, and did you really have to make such an accusation about beating me when you have never seen me in combat?" Axel asked, but kept walking forward nonetheless. After about 15 minutes of walking through the tall trees, Axel heard animals pass through bushes near them.

"Stop! Don't make a move guys. I will handle this," Axel said as he equipped his sword Legalus to his right hand and his shield Tyranus to his left hand. Three wolves came rushing towards the group from in from of them, though they were a few dozen meters away still, allowing Axel to prepare a plan in his mind.

Honestly, Rython felt like what Axel was saying was complete and utter bullshit. But, since he was interested in getting these people out of the forest, he decided not to press the issue any further. Ignoring the pink haired man when he said that Rython didn't know anything about his skills, he followed Axel as he led the way out of the forest.

His brother would have been capable of nuking this whole forest..but, alas, Rython simply was not at that level of power yet. He needed to train harder, and get stronger...and as he remembered the day his entire family was killed, killing intent radiated off of his body, a stark difference from the happy and flamboyant man seen earlier. The civilians, scared, kept distance from him, but he didn't notice.

No matter how many years past, no matter how smart he got, none of his brother's decisions made any sense. But, Rython supposed now wasn't the time to being thinking about stuff like this, as a pack of wolves threatened the civilians. Now was the perfect time to flex his power and show Axel that he better not try any sneaky shit!

A wolf charged at Rython, and Rython mirrored the canine, leaping in the air at full speed..

"RYTHON HURRICANE!"

You might have expected something spectacular, but nope. The Rython Hurricane was just a simple flying kick since Rython never focused on making actual techniques. The attack landed squarely on the wolf's head, knocking it out cold and sending it flying five meters. Rython scratched his chin...the animal most likely suffered one nasty concussion after that. Maybe he should have toned it down a little?

But, before he could lower his power a little, his battle instincts activated, countering an attack from a wolf trying to sneak up on him with a brutal slam, breaking his ribs. After this, he let the wolf go. It didn't want to fight anymore after suffering so much damage, and went off.

The wolves were incredibly weary from Rython's power, now thinking about retreat..

Axel was amazed at how strong this man was, performing a flying kick towards one of the wolves' head, knocking him out cold and sending him a few meters back, then countered a wolf trying to sneak behind him and slammed him to the ground breaking his ribs and allowing him to escape, but Axel didn't like this. As the wolf was about to walk out of the battle field, the mercenary charged and once he was close enough, he sliced upwards vertically at his stomach, cutting the wolf right in half. Now the last one began to retreat but Axel ran to him before he fully decided, stabbing him through his heart. He then walked back to the group, stopped near the wolf unconscious and stabbed it through the heart as well, waking him up from his slumber only to send him back permanently. The woman campers were shocked and speechless, but the males clapped and shouted good comments, since these wolves were trying to kill them, and it was only logical to kill them to make sure they could no longer do them harm.

"Yep guys, with my escort service comes my protection. If I can't keep you all safe, I do not deserve this money you have entrusted to me and will return it to the survivors. Of course, I won't ever let that happen," Axel said to them smiling. He may have been a shady guy, but what he said was truthful. A true mercenary doesn't get to keep money after he fails an objective in his opinion. If they were all dead however, then that was another story. "Alright guys, let's keep going," Axel said, walking forward. Since they were walking, and it took Axel an hour to get to the point in the forest were he found the campers, and the fact that they had only been walking for 15 minutes, it would at least take them about 2 more hours to get back, more if they had anymore interruptions.

Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs] Empty Re: Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs]

Rython couldn't believe what he was seeing. The hero was so shocked, so disturbed at the way this man ruthlessly killed these poor animals that were only looking for food and were willing to run away, that he couldn't do anything but just stand and shiver. His anger point was at its end...and the two halves of the wolf reminded him of how he found his own father, cut down from the middle by his brother. The anger grew even more as the men clapped...didn't they understand? No one had to die..these weren't humans. To them, this wasn't evil at all. It was just a means of survival. Axel didn't need to kill him for survival...

Rython tried his best not to snap, he tried not to unleash his rage and stay calm. But no method worked. The sorrow and rage he felt was simply too strong.

Before Axel walked off, Rython charged at him with full speed, stopping just a meter short of him. He wouldn't attack just yet, as this man was the way out of here.

"You fucking...sissy haired BASTARD!"

The civilians flinched at the venomous tone that his voice took, with some of the women even hiding behind the men.

"How could you do this to them? They weren't even a threat, you fucking kill happy monster! You're lucky that your guidance is the only way out of here or I'd fucked you up already, you bitch."

Now that he got the words out of his system, he took a deep breath, and stared Axel down for a few more seconds in case he did something. Then, he would fall back, a little behind the group of civilians. Just being near Axel infuriated Rython, and the hero couldn't wait to give this mercenary what was coming to him. It ached Rython that he couldn't do anything about this right now.

Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs] Empty Re: Camping Trip Gone Wrong? [Closed][Rython Briefs]

Though the three men campers applauded Axel, the man that joined them last wasn't so pleased with the mercenaries actions, for whatever reason. He ran towards Axel until he was a meter away and started shouting, asking why Axel would do that to animals that weren't even a threat, and then insulted him, strongly implying that he would try to beat him up once they got out of the forest. This frightened him and the other campers, because clearly this man was deranged. The wolves were about to kill them, and yet he defended them so hard. It made you wonder if he was raised by animals. Axel sure thought he was now.

"Yo dude, that guy is unstable and I am telling you, he might try to kill you once we get out of here," Jacob said while walking next to Axel, whispering. The aggressive man was far behind the group, but he just wanted to make sure he didn't hear his words.

"Yes, I know. I still have no idea how I want to go about the situation. He is faster than I am and he is a power-house with his fists. I would surely lose," Axel whispered back, worried about it now. Why was that guy so pissed about all of his actions? Everything he ever did was for his survival as well as those around him who asked for it, with a price, but he was still willing to save people. Why should he die over such a silly dispute of whether or not his survival methods are ok?

There was only one thing that the mercenary could do at this point. He stopped the group, tyrned around and looked directly into the eyes of Rython. They were a few meters away from each other.

"Alright buddy, I know you have a problem with me, so I want to settle this now instead of you jumping me once we get out of here. Why are you defending wolves that were trying to kill us? The way I was raised is that if someone picks a fight, you fight back harder to ensure those people never step up to you again, either because of fear or because they are dead. I understand some were retreating, but wolves are sneaky bastards. Trust me, last time I fought some, I let one get away and they came back with a bigger pack. If any of these three did that, the number would be too big to defend all of the campers, and though we would defeat them, we would have dead civilians on our consciences. Do you want that?" Axel asked, really curious. He needed to sort this out now because he didn't want to have to fight, especially after walking for so long. He still didn't have his sword and shield shealth however, in case Rython became even more hostile.

"Look. I don't give a damn what kind of wolves you were dealing with, fool. Even if they DID try to come back with more wolves, I'm not a weakling like you. I could easily kill them all before they even lay a single claw on these civilians."

He was too arrogant to admit that Axel may have been right, but he truly believed that his abilities were enough. The weird stares that he got from the civilians didn't make him feel any better. Why was he being looked at this way? He was the hero here! He wanted to be loved by everyone. Now, he was wondering if this whole hero thing was the right way to go. Although many people called him arrogant, he never thought about it until now. Could it be that his own flaws were interfering with the path of righteousness?

This little experience in the forest had changed him, that was for sure. Only time could tell if it was for better, or for worse. For now, he would give up the job of being a hero, dedicating his time to revenge.
It was his original purpose, as soon as he saw the note left by his brother. Rython didn't need any distractions..

"So you say you can 'kill' them, when you are angry about the fact that I killed them? Choose your words carefully dude," Axel replied, which wasn't the best decision when trying to calm a man down, but he went with it anyway, because now he was pissed at this man's logic and the fact that all he does is insult him. He does not wish to help a man out of a forest who constantly insults him and intends to kill him once they get out, or at least badly injure him.

"Look, sorry about that last comment. Now, is there anyway that we can work this out without you having to try and fight me at the end? I am all ears at your suggestions," Axel added. The other campers looked at them from the side strangely, probably regretting that they were lost, because Axel and Rython both were being pretty aggressive, which meant that they could possibly be put in the crossfire.

"Come on you two. No fighting has to happen today. Let's all just get out of here and maybe go to a nearby bar or something? Hopefully the money our pink-haired friend collected from us can be used to pay for them?" Cathy suggested. Axel was reluctant about that last part, but he just wanted to act like this day never happened. Wasting the money would help.

"Uh, yea, what she said. Can we go now and not worry about a future fight please?" Axel asked, putting away his sword and shield to show that he is not hostile.

OOC: Rython hasn't posted for more than 24 hours, so I am just going to skip him and end this.

When Rython did not say a word, Axel took that as a yes and began to walk once again towards the exit along with the five campers and Rython if he followed. The pink-haired mercenary was just happy that he didn't have to fight soon, because he was all tired out from navigating this forest, and the fact that he would have to turn back in order to get to new places drove his mind insane. At least he got money from doing this.

After about 2 more hours of walking, the group finally got out of the forest, and were headed towards the nearest town's bar to get a few drinks. Axel wasn't planning on spending all of his earnings on these people, but just half. After they had their fair share of food and drinks, they all went their separate ways, Axel going back into the forest, hoping to get passed it and get to the next village.
