The sounds of a creaking windmill in the distance, the scent of plywood buildings. The smokey ring of death watching over from atop the mountain's peak in the not-so far flung distance. This was Kakariko village, an old town, of humble beginnings with equally as humble civilians residing by-- "Hey, sell me somethin`." -- and some weirdos, wanting possessions for lord knows what reason. Maybe they just have too much money, who knew?

At the gate entrance of the village stood a wanderer; a maiden clad in white: white boots, white gloves, a billowy long dress, a lacy white parasol, and a white headpiece akin to a maids. Twas a try-hard false saint, if anything. Or an escapee bride. Or maybe just a fan of white.

With a hand outstretched just out of the parasols shade, taking in the heat of the sunlight, the azure eyed woman let out a soft sigh.  "The air here is a bit different;" she looked upwards, retracting that hand almost quickly. Taking notice of the windmill, how it swayed so slowly, but swayed all the same. Never stopping. Always etching forward. "the countryside is a lot more quaint than that ratty marketplace... This could be an ideal elysion." Speaking to herself, the lass twirls her parasol in hand as she chuckles with anticipation.

"Good day, welcome to Kakariko village." a guard called out to her, breaking her from the distracting trance-like state she was in. A startling yelp left her, causing her to hop from her boots (not literally). "Ee-eeeh! H..hello there..." she replies shakily, before readjusting herself to stand more prim and proper, dusting her gown off she regains her composure. "Is it customary for the one who guards the people to startle tourists?" she responds with a bit of snark in her town, maybe she was just a tad upset that the guard caught her off-guard.

"Ahahah. I'm sorry, miss." he responds, not seeming genuinely sorry at all. "But it is my job to keep the suspicious looking people from making a ruckus. So if you could state the reason for your visit, that'd be great." Ugh, this guy sure was annoying, a brown noser of some sort. Or maybe just a guard who's too good at doing his job.
"Suspicious looking huh?" she repeated, "My name is Rozenart Feytholen, I am here to visit the cemetery, so if you could please tell me where it is located at, I'll be on my way. I do not plan to stay here for long." "The cemetery? the man asked, as the demeanor of his face changed to a much softer expression. "Alright, say no more. I understand." it was almost like his personality had changed at the flip of the dial. Mayhaps he's seen people visit it all too often... Oh well, his reasons were irrelevant, "It's in the back of town, right pass the big ole windmill back there, you can't miss it." he pointed his thumb back over his shoulder towards the noticeable mill. Rozenart's heel drags itself to the side as she leans just a bit to take a better look.

"Ah, thank you sir." she replies softly, her demeanor softening as well. With a polite nod, she begins to pace onward. "You were most helpful. I shall write your superiors a letter of recommendation~ You deserve a promotion." "Hahahah! You are pretty funny lass. Hahahahaha!" -- with a grin she looked back, that man was a strange one. But hopefully those little lyrics coat with honey would be enough to sprout the seeds to win him over at a later day.

'Anyone anywhere could be useful, after all. Especially in this place where light reigns supreme, the people of this land are far too trusting.'

Strolling along the soft dirt road, her eyes scrolled around to take in the sites--namely the people. Several were working, some children were playing and catching bugs with nets. Ah, such a quaint town indeed.
"I wonder why somebody would build such a place beside of a natural force of destruction like death mountain? Do they desire their own deaths? Or is the reason something more?" she muttered to herself, stopping as she stared off towards the volcano once more.

Twas a mystery indeed.

....

"Ah, right, the cemetery..." she reminded herself of her destination, taking a quick turn towards a decorated path beside of the windmill...

Just a bit further.

"Big Brother?"

"Hm?"

"Do you think papa' is happy up there?" The sentinel bestowed amber eyes upon the curious child standing directly beside him.

"I'm most certain he is looking down on you with pride and joy, little one." He retorted—a hand that could easily eclipse the sun patted the child's head. The small Goron child giggled and blushed at the comforting words of the Patriarch. "Hey, big bro?" She called out to the gargantuan leader once again.

"Hm?"

"Thank you for bringing me here!" The child shouted in glee as she proceeded to wrap her little arms around Konungr's tree trunk sized leg. The stoic leader found himself giving the child a little grin from behind his dusty wanders cloak. "I promised you I'd bring you to visit your fathers grave, didn't I? I'd never go back on my word, little one." He patted her head once again, eyes fixated heavily upon the grave of a fallen brother.

"She is growing up fast, brother. You should be proud, folk." Konungr said within the confines of his own mind as the child placed a bundle of desert flowers at the base of the tombstone.

"Okay, papa'! I have a lot to tell you, so listen up! First off, mama is doing great!" She squatted down to get face level with the tombstone and began holding conversation with it. Konungr turned away—not wanting to "eavesdrop" on the father and daughter moment. Upon doing so, he perched himself high on-top the slab of stone directly in the middle of the graveyard; the slab of stone undoubtedly used for the extravagant tombstones scattered throughout the cemetery. The Chieftain sat on one leg while the other was left to hang and sway. His arms were folded across his chest and eyes closed—he now had all his senses on the surrounding area.

"We don't want your mother to worry about you, little one. Speak with haste."

"Kk, big bro! Papa' listen! Then-." Nothing but complete gibberish from that moment onward.

The lovely lass paced on the ductile stone etched into the ground guiding her way unto the area where graves tarry. There had been an estranged air about the place, different from the settlement she'd been to only moments ago. The air still had the same old'n'homely feeling the village had to it; but there had been something else too...
A lingering hollowness that could never hope to be filled; as if the air here had been thinner by a soupcon.

A small shed lingered in the corner of an eye; likely the keepers hut. Was he in? If so that could be a potent hassle. The texture of it was ancient however, perhaps it's long since been abandoned. There wasn't a need to rise concern then.

There was a large stone craft with faded text; mentioning something or another about the dead and eternal rest. Ah, obvious details. Though Rozenart had an undying affinity for reading literature, she also paradoxically loathed what she deemed as unnecessary scripture. With a dry sigh, she shifts up small upwards slope leading to the bed of graves. A faulty wooden fence layers the graves separating commonfolk from nobility. 'These are the lines that separate the people, be they living or dead, I suppose.' Rozenart thinks as she passes by a grave.. The stones barely differentiated from one another. So why did they need to divide the people? They were all the same, only clumps of dust feeding the worms, right? Soon everything else would be there too.

"Am I.. interrupting..?" Rozenart mumbles out, but quickly withdraws her breath after. There were people here, but they weren't like the other people in the village. Nay. Though the local mountainfolk and the inhabitants of Kakariko were at least acquaintanced to one another by breed; this outsider found their presences beyond strange. The large man perched upon the grave was sentient, but also had a feral presence about him. Moreso than any human she had met.

She wasn't sure how to react--ah, perhaps this had been a bad time. Then again! Maybe this was the family that owned that mucky old shed, right? ... Thinking back, it didn't seem like an ideal place to raise a child: a broken shed and a graveyard. Maybe they were just some kind of foreigners--whatever the case was, she had made her presence detectable, so it was too late to back away now.

She looked towards the shorter some distance further from the elder, strafing backwards a pace in the off chance the man was an overprotective father she'd read about. "Is that your child?" she asked the obvious, if only to seem oblivious. And maybe make some small conversation to ease her own nerves.

the soft pitter-patter of feet on cobblestone caused Konungr to meet the "newcomer" with a steady gaze. Keen amber iris' fixated upon the white-maiden before shifting over to the innocent child who has yet to take notice. The titanic Goron had no reason to feel any kind of hostility towards this unknown woman. This graveyard was public and open to anyone—Human, Goron, Deku, or Zora. He blinked a few times before gently closing his eyes, heightening every sense to watch the enclosed area and to protect the little one he swore to watch over.

Completely still,

Konungr didn't move a single muscle—perfectly intimating that of a statue. Even as the maiden asked her question, Konungr wouldn't move. He slowly opened his eyes and watched the little one, but he wouldn't move a single muscle.

"No."

"No." ... ? Rozenart could have sworn the two couldn't look more akin if the child were some chimeric replica! He had to have been lying, or maybe there was another connection between the two. He did look a little  old to be a dad, maybe he was a grampa.

Well regardless, it's none of her business. "Ah, well if you'll excuse me... I'm just passing through." she explained, still rather sheepishly. There was just something unsettling about this person that she couldn't place her finger on. The last thing she needed to do was get on his bad side. She was almost too frightened to even walk in front of him, much less so eager to pass between his view of the child.

But walking around was too long, surely something this simple shouldn't even be worth putting SO much thought into! Why was she so frustrated? This is a cemetary, dead people are here, nobody is ever killed in them; they're brought here in the aftermath of dying.

Puffing her cheeks with determination, Rozenart stampers on pass the two hopefully without delay. To that one mossy gravestone looming in the far eastern corner.

'This is the one.'

She squats to her knees and idly sits there, occasionally glimpsing at the other two, namley the child. Is that how you're supposed to greet these things?
Rozenart had no idea. How exactly... does one pray to the stone? Well, maybe just sitting here and pretending it was working would eventually make it work.
Or look like it did.

....

Praying wasn't her motive anyway, she just needed people to buy that she had been deep in thought long enough to be alone with the stone.
