Seeing Red Empty Seeing Red

Traveling had a strange way of throwing people off course of their desired destination, but all who travel don't always have a set destination. This held true to two wandering protectors, well one wandering protector and her brother. " Arc... I think we may have gotten off the road again, I honestly would have liked to stay at in Inn this time... " A light voice played along the wind and carried itself to whoever was around to hear it. The two Red haired twins was suppose to be looking for a town, village, or somewhere with a decent enough civilization so that they could rest. It honestly wasn't all that big of a deal but it had been sometime since she had spent time in a warm bed, with food cooked by someone else's hand. The two's constantly wandering this time had brought them to Lake Hylia, a place that Luci was most familiar with. The area around the lake was a bit more chilly than other places because of the water and the quickly coming nightfall. This didn't bother Luci much as she looked around the area. Not much had changed since her last visit here, her ruby hues taking in the landscape around the two before turning to her brother." We'll set up camp here tonight. In the morning we'll depart for the closet town, so for now let's get a fire going while we still have sunlight on our side, and we might as well catch dinner. You can take care of the wood, I'll catch and clean the fish. " A smile crossed her face as she looked at Arc, something that only he was able to experience. To everyone besides her brother she was blank faced and a rather intimidating. She didn't need anyone thinking she was openly friendly, lest they mistaken that for some sort of weakness. She didn't have time for that, she didn't have time for people to test just how easily she would draw her blade if faced with any danger against her. Thankfully she had her brother by her side, something she was quite happy about seeing as how she could relax just a bit around him. It was truly the blessing of the goddess that she had her twin with her, yes she owed a lot to that divine being.

The sky was just the way Ark loved it. Bright and clear as far as the eyes could see across the lakeside. He has lost track of the days that have passed since leaving the main road. Seemed he didn't remember the way as well as had first thought. Scathing the back of his head the man smiled widely at his shorter counterpart. "I know, I know. Guess he took a wrong turn somewhere." He said trying to think where it could have been. He had thought he knew a short cut through the countryside so they would make it to town a whole day quicker. But his attempt to get his sister there faster have only made them more lost, if that was even possible. For Ark, this would be just another night as for the past hundred years or so have been spent under the night sky. Still with the chilly air surrounding them he wouldn't lie that he wanted a warmer sleep this night. Turning toward his sister he listens as she laid the plan out. Ever the one with a plan he thought with a grin. Placing his pack down Ark would quickly snap to a salute facing Luci. "Yes, Sir Ma'am!" With a laugh, he quickly ruffles her hair and quickly hop away before she could retaliate. He knew her hair was a weak point and made sure to tease his other half then he could. With only his sword on his back, Ark set out to collect wood as well as to check the surrounding. It wouldn't do for them to have monster or bandit to sneak upon them in the night. [/color]

Why was Konungr here? What drew the gargantuan beast to this very location—like a moth to a open flame. The stoic giant exhaled a smokey sigh as he stood by the waters edge. Being within the domain of the illusive Zora was never a good idea when considering how the Zora and Goron "viewed" one another. The Zora hated the Goron and Zora disgusted the Goron, simple as that. The colossal mountain-folk held themselves above shallow hatred—especially when they have always had more pressing matters to attend to. So the "hatred" has always been one-sided and will forever be that way until the Zora decide to see the bigger picture and atone for their wrong doings. Until then, the two races will continue to be on bad terms. But such bad-blood couldn't keep Konungr away from this massive lake of legend. He began a brisk scroll alongside the lapping waves until he spotted what he believed to be the unknown force that summoned him here. "Ah, folk. Hello!" A lone Goron greeted the chieftain with a faint smile; laid out across the sand not moving a single muscle.

"What brings you here, folk? I sense you're in need of aid."

"Fishing. I need a Hylia blue mason bass. Tricky little bugger, that one is."

"How long have you been out here?"

"Days."

"Days?"

"Six of them, Guhahaha!"

Konungr shook his head and helped the toppled Goron to his feet. "Go home, brother. I'll see about catching this one-of-a-kind fish for you." The Goron nodded before rolling off in typical Goron fashion. Once alone, Konungr examined the fishing-pole and bait—he wouldn't even be able to catch a cold using the tools here.

Well, at least he tried, right?

The Goron chief turned away from the pole and began retracing his tracks back up the shoreline. He had no intentions on returning to the village just yet. It isn't everyday a Goron gets to set foot within Lake Hylia. So Konungr needed to make this time count and look for a little special herb indigenous to the grass of this very area.

Seeing Red Empty Re: Seeing Red

"Yes, Sir Ma'am!" Luci let out a small chuckle as her brother was quick to salute her. This was a mistake as she was caught off guard when she felt the large hand ruffle her hair, turning her face as Red as the locks on her head. He knew just how to mess with her and that annoyed Luci sometime, but she knew that he meant no harm. Before she got the chance to cut her glare at him the giant was off and away with luci fighting the urge to chase him. " Oh you just wait.. I'll get that fool for this. " She mumbled the words to herself before stretching her body. Since she was alone ( or as alone as she thought she was ) it was her time to start catching those fish. It was a simple task really and she began to strip from her usual dark attire to reveal a slim yet curvy frame only covered in a black two piece number that was made for the water. Most would use fishing poles and bait, but Luci knew that was a waiting fame she didn't have time for. Folding her clothing neatly and placing them on a rather grassy patch of land along with her blade before she made her way into the water. It was freezing cold but in seconds she began to adjust. As she moved deeper into the water she found that it had covered her waist before she began seeing the fish swim about in the clear waters. Between her and her brother the two could eat out a all-you-can-eat buffet in under a minute, so she knew she would be fishing this lake dry just to quench their appetite. Her Crimson hues stalked the fish below the waves and with split second timing she shot her hand into the clear liquid and in the following second ripped it out. In her hand, fighting for dear life, a feisty tuna was held tightly in her grasp. Smiling she chucked the fish hard enough that it would land far from that water, where it would flop a bit more before dying with it's last breath. " Well that's one down...I'm sure Arc is having a better time me right now....Or possible not." Shaking her head she pushed her Crimson locks back and set back to the task, her mind focused as she caught fish after fish.

As the large man run away in a comical fashion he could hear his sister words carry over the wind. With a quick laugh to himself he knew he would have to sleep with one eye up tonight. The world might only know of her stone exterior, but he knew first hand the fury of her revenges. Still it was nice to travel once more with his sister, even if meant more of her justice talk and the duty of their clan. Yet, maybe that was the part he loved about her. The seriousness that held his own carefree lifestyle in place. Gathering wood went by easily enough as the woodland close to the lake were a bounty of resources for fire and even a little extra food. In one clearing, he happens upon a group of berries that if roasted just a bit tasted a lot like sweet candy. With a large arm-full of dry wood and logs and a small shake of berry Ark quickly made his way back toward the campsite. Placing the wood down and forming a fire pit Ark would take a quick look around as it seems Luci had yet to return. With his own work done Ark headed to the lake bank where he found clothing neatly on a grassy patch of land along with what starting to turn into a mountain of dying fish. "Sis never was one to skip on quantity." He said to himself before pausing and for a second thinking it would be funny to hide the clothing. However, the sound of the heavy footstep coming toward him broke his prank thoughts. In most cases, he would have simply stepped into the treeline to disappear, but he couldn't just leave the food. So Ark just stood facing the direction of the sound with his hand lightly on his blade handle. Years had taught Ark one could never be too safe this far off of the Kingdom highways. But the thing he saw quickly turned his stone face to a gin. He was a mountain of a man. A full head taller than Ark himself making him have to look up at him. So this must be like for Luci when she talking to me though Ark before removing his hand from the sword seeing the rod in hand. "A Goron!" He called out with a smile toward the large man. "What bring one of your kinds to these part." He said a tone that would make other believe they might have been old friends. But, at the sight of bubbles he turned toward the water. "You're just in time, Friends. Your about to see a sight few men have ever seen." He knew Luci wouldn't be naked, but still a side of him knew he should do something. Yet he didn't... this was just going to be funny.

The Goron's search was bountifully—within minutes he had a bundle of the herbs upon his person. To modest folk—farmers, certain knights, and royalty. The little green herb went nothing and had little to know value usage and monetary wise. But ask the right person—a survivalist or scientist, and they will create a healing tonic capable of curing any wound no matter how grave or foreign. This is achieved by having advanced knowledge of the art of herbalism and survival. Creating said tonic is similar to that of a jigsaw puzzle, piece by piece and one will find themselves with a complete product,

and to Konungr. This was the final piece to his own jigsaw puzzle.

The titanic Goron backtracked once again, bandage feet sinking into the soggy sand below; it felt nice to the rocky sentinel. As he backtracked, amber hues fixated upon a miniature camp; and ahead of said camp stood a man; blade at the ready. The Goron chieftain paid the red-head no mind and continued on his way, well, until the stranger called out to him. Konungr ceased dead in his tracks with a crocked brow of confusion. He looked over the male one quick time and knew almost instantly the two of them shared no history whatsoever—so why so friendly?

"Nothing in particular."

He replied to the question with his typical three word retorts. However, the very moment Konungr answered the harmless question, those keen ears of the Goron flinched as the sound of something breaking the waters surface flooded his ears. The following words from the red-head went nothing to the formidable Goron; what sight was he talking about?

Konungr simply watched as the women rose from the lake. Was he supposed to be impressed? Sure, she had a body and all, but what could a women like her offer a beast of a man like himself, besides the obvious; you know exactly what I mean. Without saying another word, Konungr pressed onward—leaving the two to do whatever it was they were doing before being stumbled upon.

She didn't really keep track of how long she had been fishing, nor did she realize how far out into the water she had gone. That was thing about Luci, once she had a task she lost herself in it, no matter how small she dedicated 100% of herself to the completion of it. Breath held, she swam about the water, looking for one last fish, one last one that would put the other catches she had to shame. She could feel her lungs reaching it's peak as she swam about almost giving in until her eyes caught sight of just the thing she was looking for. Fighting through the pain of her lungs she was upon the prize before her. She swam with frantic speed, but with control and grace. It was obvious the fish had noticed her but it was really too late for that now wasn't it? Grabbing the fish with both hands she held tight as she kicked her feet upwards, light growing closer and closer until she broke through the water gasping for air. The burning in her lungs instantly became smooth as it filled with the life giving oxygen. Because she was to excited and with little time to fool around she didn't see what she caught under water but now that her eyes adjusted she practically smiled at her catch. Letting the fish fight till it's death Luci dived back under and swam towards the shore. Once her feet touched land she began to walk out of the cool waters, under her arm a Hylia blue mason bass almost as big as she was was tucked tightly as she pushed her crimson locks back from her face. Water dripped from her body and the first person her eyes made contact with was the man who stood taller than her own brother. It didn't take long for her to realize that it was Goron but she was curious now, why was a goron in these parts where Zora flourished? Throwing the large fish next to the pile of other fish rather than on top of it, her crimson eyes lowered as she watched the Goron walking away. Luci automatically thought the worst and without more than a thought she picked up her blade and followed in his direction. " Goron! Why are you in these parts where the Zora roam? I understand both of your brethren do not enjoy each other's company. " Her voice switched from the familiar tone she used with her brother and reverted to it's usual monotone. Honestly the Goron could have been passing through, but she didn't need any problems arising should he come across one of the Zora, she would rather stop it before it started.

Ark stood and watched as the walking mountain began to walk away. With no one watching he let his smile fade as he studies the man. True this was Zora land and water, but it didn't seem he was here for trouble. In fact, if he wasn't so far from Mt. Death Ark would have guess he was out of a walk or to fish. Sadly the truth was never that simple. Never in this world. Still it wasn't his problem anymore. He had tried talking to the man and he didn't seem the social type so he would let him be. However, he would be sure to keep a sharp eye out tonight. Ark didn't believe he was up to no good, but he was he sure as hell didn't want to get an attack in the dark by a man like that.

In truth, he wasn't sure what would happen if that man did turn out to be hostel. It would be around this time he would feel something heavy roll in his leg on the ground. Looking down he saw another ever larger fish than the other. With a whistle, his smile returned as he looked as the fish then at his sister. "Well then is that one of those Blue Bass I..." He trailed off as he watched Luci grabbed her sword and start walking toward the other man. "By the Goddess!" He cursed to himself and hurried after the short red head. At her words, he quickly moved between the two, but keeping to the side. "Now now dear sister. Remember what we talked about? Let's try to play nice here." He said to Luci while keeping an eye of the man. If possible he wanted to avoid a fight. This was the only downside with traveling with his dear sister. She had a bad habit of alway thinking the worst.

The behemoth stopped dead in his tracks before fixing his gaze on the approaching female. He felt zero hostility coming from the petite red-head—but maybe he should have in sudden hindsight. His gaze dropped to the exotic blade before picking back up and peering deep into those crimson orbs. Who was this women to approach him so recklessly with subtle unjust claims? From behind the dusted cloak, he scoffed in amusement before taking a step forward himself; no hostility ; no malice intent; just a leader on the verge of scolding a child for their wrong doings.

Konungr opened his cloak—showing his chiseled frame that housed many gruesome and grotesque scars from the past. Wrapped around his chest and lopping around the right shoulder would be medical gauze with miniature blood spots from reopened and still-opened wounds. In a little leather sack around the waist rested the bundle of herbs he scavenged early—the leaves sticking out indicated this. He sported black hakama bottoms with bandages wrapped around his feet in  martial artist fashion.

"I'm in no condition to cause any trouble. As you can see."

The Goron finally retorted as he slowly closed the over sized cloak. "I advice you to seek heed in your companions words, lass.  Go about your business and I will do the same. "

This was no longer about the Goron's and Zora's mutual "disagreement". This was simply about respect and the unfavorable outcomes of ones hasty actions.

"Now now dear sister. Remember what we talked about? Let's try to play nice here."
Luci looked over at her brother for a second as he spoke these words. She wanted to cut her eyes at him but couldn't bring herself to because she knew he was right. She wasn't really out to harm the behemoth, she honestly only wanted to keep the peace. Turning her gaze from her brother, her crimson glare went right back to the Goron only to be met with a body riddled with scars. Her expression aloof as it was took in the sight before nodding at the Goron's words. " I was not looking for a fight. So heeding my brother's words wouldn't truly be possible. It's obvious your words hold true in regards to not causing trouble... As you are now.... You are welcomed to join us for dinner and perhaps dress your wounds. Nightfall soon comes, it wouldn't be too smart to continue on, but that's your choice honestly..."
Her words were cool to the core and she didn't wait for a reply before she turned her back and continued to the campsite. If anything Luci knew her brother would take care of the buddy-buddy stuff, he was always good with people. The mountain of fish brought her back to the task that she had set to do before she was pulled away. Upon reaching the fish she began one by one cleaning and cutting the fish, leaving the prized Bass for last. " Arc! Hurry up and prepare the fire..... " They would eat well tonight, and even have too much left over. She didn't need this food going to waste so she would hope that Arc made a better impression than she.

After hearing his sister words, Ark allowed a soft sigh of relief escape his lips as he watched her leave. He was not looking forward to what could have been a fight. He let his body relax as he turned toward the man. "Please try not to take my sister words to heart, Mate. She means well. In her own way, truly." He said his smile now returning. At his sister orders, he only sighs at it, what a slave driver he thought. Looking at the man once more he continues to smile. "Well like she said you're free to join us this night, lad. As you can see we have more than enough food to go around and I have a bit of wine as well. If that more of your taste." Clapping his hands together, he turned to walk away, but stop and looked back over his shoulder. "Think of it as our apology for that little incident. Oh right!" He said with a realization and turning back around. "Where are my manners?! My name is Ark and the lovely fireball over there is Luci. Do hope you stay for the night." And with that he gave a somewhat odd bow before turning to leave. His familia tone most likely sounded odd to the large man. He has often been told that in the past. Yet Ark never tries to change it. He loved meeting people, good, bad, it didn't matter to him. Each person was unique with their own story about them. And this person was very unique.

Leaving the man to pick to go or stay Ark walked back to their camp but not before stopping next to his sister. Quickly he removed his white cloak and wrapped it around his sister shoulder. "Next time do remember to dress before threatening someone." He said before patting her head but left the hair alone this time. Best not to make her mad with weapon in hand. Once back at the camp Ark made quick work of the fire. After a hundred years of practice, one become fairly good at a task. With flint and steel in hand, Ark only needed a few pops before he had a small flame and with some dry wood the fire quickly grew. As he waited he dug through his pack and pulled out a skin of wine he had well liberated from a group of bandit they had run into along the road a few days past. Most likely his sister wouldn't have approved of that, but was it really stealing if you take it from a theft?
