Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION] Empty Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION]

Post by Zelda Wed Mar 04, 2015 8:35 pm

Mission Name: Hero Guides the Maiden
Mission Rank: Amateur
Location: Lost Woods
Description: Zelda has found out that she is the reincarnation of Goddess Hylia and must now pay a visit to the Forest Temple where the forest sage resides. Because she is the princess, she requires an escort, so the young knight, Link has been chosen to be her guide.
Requirements: 150 words for 5 posts per person MINIMUM, though it may go a bit longer since it is semi-social.
Player Count: 2
Reward: 50,000 rupees each and 75 EXP each
Word Count: 750 words per person minimum.
Mission Boss: No

This is what she had been waiting for. Despite not knowing full well of what her duties were, now that she was aware of who exactly she was, she knew that in the end, it was her destiny to bring peace. She would have to find the hero as quickly as possible, and she had hoped that paying a visit to the Forest Sage would give her some insight. If she was able to give her basic characteristics of what he was like, or if she was even able to read his spirit... they could prepare much more quickly.

Though Impa was away on business with politics, Zelda knew that no one would allow her to leave the castle alone - let alone the city. She had to request an escort, and though they had highly suggested she bring a Sheikah to her aid, she had only one person in mind. She wanted to bring Link. she couldn't quite explain it, but there was something comforting about him. She felt safe in his presence and whether or not it was because of the familiarity, she wasn't sure. She just knew that if he came with her, she would be fine.

The two had left on horse, and to bring less attention to them, they simply would have to share one. Bringing two horses into the Lost Woods would prove to be a challenge anyways - especially if they became separated. Zelda had changed up her attire a bit for the journey. Rather than wearing her dress, she wore a fitted, blue, more casual dress with a cloak over it.

The worry in Zelda began to show. She just hoped that she'd get the answers she needed when she would make contact with the sage. They were running out of time. "I'm really glad you decided to come with me." she finally said, after a long ride without a word. "Usually Impa would escort me, but she's busy..."

Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION] Empty Re: Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION]

Post by Link Thu Mar 05, 2015 9:57 pm

This entire mission had honestly quite surprised the young knight as he was suddenly whisked away from the barracks stating that the mission he was to go on was of the greatest importance. The senior knight above him had practically burst into the room searching for him with quite the grumpy look on his face and in no time the two were off heading towards the mission. Link had only looked on bewildered as walked quickly behind his superior in order to keep up with the elder man’s speed.

He could hear the man practically yelling at him about how important this mission was and not to screw it up otherwise the entire kingdom of Hyrule would have his head. When the man quieted down Link even thought he heard the man complain about Link getting the job under his breath, but Link brushed it aside and moved on.

He honestly could not have imagined that his mission would have involved the princess he had met the other day. Zelda was always said to have had Impa beside her side, working along the girl for whatever she needed. For a knight to take that spot, even momentarily was something big, but why him? There were other experienced knights so what made him different. The bewilderment remained, however he felt honored to be chosen and chose to focus on his mission. He had given a bow to the princess and informed her he would get her to their destination safely before they were off.

And so, the princess and the knight left the castle and traveled upon horseback into the forest together. Covering his body was that of a cloak covering his lightly armoured body. Though this was not a trip involving conflict, as Zelda’s escort he needed to be prepared for any sneak attacks. The cloak was merely to hide the amour and to hold onto the idea that this was to be a peaceful trip. Together they rode upon his trusty steed Epona, a horse he would gladly trust with his life.

The trip was silent and as Link rode on he smiled as he patted Epona lightly on the side of her neck, informing her she was doing a good job. Once the princess finally broke the silence Link looked of his shoulder and gave her a smile and a nod. “Im glad to be of service” Link said before staring back forward as Epona walked on. “I’ll be honest, I’ve rarely even entered the Lost Forest…however coming here brings a sense of peace for me…a familiar feeling that I enjoy…” Link said closing his eyes as a light and warm breeze blew by.

Zelda smiled back with pursed lips that curled in as she chuckled lightly, looking down as he turned his face to look at her. Yes, there was something about the Lost Woods that was strikingly serene, despite the terrible rumors of the lost children and what happens when one wanders too far and can't find their way home.

"I hope that the officers didn't frighten you too much... they always overreact when it comes to some kind of duty in my presence," she sighed. "I really didn't mean to drag you into anything crazy. It's just... I feel like I can trust you. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I just feel safe around you. You have a very secure aura. It gives off comfort."

She probably sounded ridiculous. But there was something inside her that wanted to believe with every fiber in her that he may be the hero. She couldn't be sure though, and only time would tell. She really needed to speak with the sage of the forest though, in order to gather and reawaken the other sages, with the hero's help or not.

He enjoyed the serenity of the forest and riding on Epona in such a foreign place was always something interesting for Link. He liked seeing new sights and it was always nice to have company with him. It was actually surprising that Zelda actually decided to travel upon one horse. Sure it seemed more effective to do so, but the status between a princess and a lowly knight was miles are apart.

The other knights made a huge deal of this mission and Link couldn’t blame them. With the king gone and his young daughter left to rule the kingdom, the people were sure to be restless. If anything were to happen to Zelda the royal bloodline potentially could have ended right there and without a suitable heir the town would be in chaos. It was a huge responsibility, but even so, the princess made it clear that she did not desire the gap between knight and princess to influence them and to be honest he felt comfortable around her. He didn’t feel as if it was a mission he had to do, but more so a task that he himself desired to fulfil on his own accord.

Listening to Zelda speak of the other knights Link could only close his eyes and chuckle softly as he scratched the back of his head “well I can’t really blame them…they’re just worried about your safety” Link said. Opening his eyes as he focused on the path they had to take. The very moment Zelda spoke about him bringing comfort his eyes widened caught totally off guard by this. She felt the same feeling he felt with her around him. He was honestly lucky that he was in front steering Epona as she wasn’t able to really see the reaction upon his face. Hearing this made him a bit embarrassed and bashful, but at the same time he liked hearing this.

“I…feel the same about you”
Link said softly, continuing to face forward. “Do you leave the kingdom often?...excuse me if this is something you wish not to answer” Link asked, a bit curious, trying to calm down a bit more.

Zelda was sure she was going to sound crazy when she had spoke, but he had seemingly taken it calmly and even agreed with her... which was not what she had expected. Sighing a bit in relief, she closed her eyes, keeping her arms around him so that she wouldn't fall off of the horse as they had headed through a rather uneven path. He had started to speak once more, but seemed to excuse it as if she would be offended.

Truth was, she had never even seen the world outside of the city. Sure, she had wandered about Castle Town in the past, but that was barely anything like this. She had never seen such vast plains or large trees. She let out a breath, almost in an overwhelming manner as she bit her lip, looking up and about. "Quite honestly, no. I've never been given the permission as a child, and as a grew older, I just... I guess I just lost the interest because I was always so busy with other things. I've barely even been outside the castle, aside from sneaking out and helping people."

She was starting to realize just how boring her life sounded. Being a princess wasn't as wonderful as it sounded - it was a lot of work and strict rules, and she was barely allowed to make any decisions for herself. Even now, while she waited to become the queen, she was barely able to make any decisions without being constantly supervised by someone. "What about you? I mean... other than any duties of being a guard, have you left the kingdom often?"

As they continued to stroll through the forest, Link listened to the princess speak and answer his question of whether she had been out of the castle. Listening to her response, Link couldn’t help but feel a bit of pity for the girl as she stated that she had never been able to really see the outside world. The world was filled with many beautiful things and held sights one could never really image, yet even so Zelda was unable to see such things due to her duty as royalty. When one thought of royalty they thought of glamour, however Link could see from the struggles Zelda must have gone that there was a lot of work and sacrificed that needed to be made.

When it was his turn to answer, Link began to think about it as well. “Have I left the kingdom? Hmm well aside from missions I have been around the fields…but even so I’ve been able to seen a fair share” Link said as he rubbed the side of Epona’s neck “Me and Epona take whatever chance we can take however to roam around the fields. It’s always nice to see new places. The grand forests, the dry mountains, and the magnificent lakes…they are quite the sight to see” Link said looking up at the sky that was almost completely covered by tree branches. “It is truly a wondrous thing to see all these new things. To travel to new places and experience new things…I enjoy it” Link said with a smile before looking over his shoulder at the princess holding onto him. “If you ever hold a desire to go anywhere, to see other places, then I’ll do whatever it takes to help you with that. It would be a shame to never be able to see such sights and that is something I want you to be able to witness with your own eyes” Link said genuinely as he closing his eyes with a reassuring smile. It was probably something Link shouldn’t have stated, but he meant his words and would allow the princess to see new places even if her duty stopped her.

Listening to what Link had to say truly intrigued Zelda. She almost envied him for having been able to have such experiences, but it was almost a relief as well. If the two of them had both never been outside the kingdom walls, then this journey would be much more difficult, she would think.

"You know, now that I think about it, when I was very little, I have left the kingdom before," she nodded. "I was just a little girl, maybe six or seven. My father had business in Labrynna, so he had taken me with him to meet the King's son, Prince Perseus," she paused for a moment. Ugh, there was something about the King of Labrynna who truly filled her with dread. "Percy and I are very good friends now, though I rarely see him. His father is very... sheltering."

She didn't really want to talk anymore about it. With all the experiences she had with the "mad king" as some people called it, she had just hoped Percy wouldn't end up like him. What made matters worse was that he was claiming to hold an oath to Zelda's father, to go through with the unofficial arranged marriage between her and Percy.

But it isn't an alliance he truly wants. The are already allies. He just wants his son to take power over another Kingdom. He wants to be in control of two thrones. Sighing at the thought, she tried to clear those thoughts from her mind as Link spoke again, and her eyes perked up as she blushed heavily. He would truly take her somewhere if she wanted to go?

She laughed bashfully, looking down again as her grip around him had tightened slightly out of a nervous reflex. "Ahah, that would... that would be amazing, but you really don't have to do that for me."

It honestly began to sound nice with what Zelda began to say about her time travelling Labrynna. It must have been something for a little girl who had never really went out to visit somewhere new, however the tone seemed to take a more uncomfortable one. It seemed speaking about Labrynna was something bothering her, something to do with the king. He could assume that she and prince Perseus must have been good friends; the two of royalty must have been able to relate to each other. He wondered if there was anything more between the two, however it seemed that the princess did not seem to want to talk about it and Link would respect that.

He felt the grip upon him tighten and his eyes opened up looking at her as she looked downwards, but Link could only close his eyes back and continue smiling at her “Nonsense, I’d love to do it. Traveling with a friend is always fun. We’re having a good time now aren’t we? I love to show you new places…we'll go together” Link said.

She could feel him looking back at her, but she was almost afraid to let her gaze meet his, so she kept her eyes locked to the ground as he then turned around and began to speak again, saying that he'd love to take her to travel. Thinking about it, it would be really nice to just get away from everything for a little bit... and him calling her a friend was really nice. Most people just addressed her as "the princess" or "your majesty". Never as a friend.

Though the last words he said caused her face to heat up a bit, flushing slightly as she blinked a few times and looked up at him from behind, though she didn't make it obvious that she was staring at him. She wasn't sure what it was about it, but him saying that stirred some... foreign knot in her stomach.

"It would be fun," she smiled tightly. "I just don't see how I'd ever have the time when I become queen..." she trailed off. Once the coronation was over with, she'd never have free time again. Everything would be politics.

Politics, it was something many could not truly handle. To remain pure and satisfy the needs of all the people was something that was a great challenge and something that only a very few could do. With Zelda becoming queen this was surely going to be the greatest challenge for her, yet even so Link wanted to help her. He liked being by her side, he saw her not as a princess nor a queen, but a friend.

Staring forward he calmly watched on as Epona walked on. Even if he didn’t really pay attention, Epona was quite the smart horse and could go forward sometimes even without her master’s orders. “I know it’ll be tough being, but you will have me…er…and the people of Hyrule to help you out, you won’t be alone” Link said a bit bashful at the last part.

She must have been thinking a lot of being queen as it was a big change in life and Link didn’t want her to focus on that so greatly. “Alright let’s try this…” Link said still steering Epona. “I want you to close your eyes, close your eyes and empty your mind. I want you to think about somewhere you want to go to, not because of duty but because you want to because you’d like to…you don’t have to tell me…” Link said calmly before pausing and giving her time to think about it. Once he gave her time he smiled and looked over his shoulder at her “That place…I promise I will take you there…queen or not…Wherever you desire…just call on me” Link said.

Still staring off, more so at the ground, her mind began to wander into its troubles. What if she really wasn't a good queen? She was already doubting herself as a leader while just being a princess - and what would happen if she were to not return from battle? She bit her lip and tried to brush it off for now - she was having a nice time with Link and didn't want to spoil it. She rarely had times like these where she could just relax, despite them being on a very important journey.

Link suddenly spoke, and his voice caught her attention as he had mentioned that she would not be alone. She had him. And the people of Hyrule. She let out a nervous breath quietly as she swallowed hard and smiled a bit, "Yeah, I suppose you're right..." and before she could really say much else, Link had suddenly changed the subject. It was as though he was playing a little game with her - having her close her eyes and what not. She was a bit confused at first, but she listened.

Closing her eyes, she did as she was told, clearing her mind of all her troubled thoughts... and suddenly she felt her entire body tense from his words. She had never met someone who was so caring and level headed. He barely knew her and he was already promising the world to her - and despite this seeming like such a small favor, it really did mean the world. No one had ever given her such a gift. She laughed again, nervously as she looked down, blushing a bit more with eyes still closed. "There's something about you, I'm not sure what... but I believe you. I can't quite put my finger on it..." she opened her eyes, looking at him. "I do have a place though, I've always wanted to visit..."

He really hoped that his little exercise had in any way at least helped the princess with her worries. He really wanted her to let go of her worries, but at the same time he meant every word he said to her and he would make sure that this girl was able to see what she desired. When he heard that she believed his words a surge of happiness entered him. It showed that he was able to accomplish what he had set out and just hearing her laugh probably meant that she was more cheerful. “That’s good!” Link said.

“Keep that place in mind. No matter what, I always do whatever needs be to fulfil any promises I make to a friend and if you desire it I will get you to that place”
Link said. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t curious about this place Zelda thought of, but this was something for Zelda to speak of and not him.

The sudden neigh of Epona suddenly caught his attention and Epona immediately came to a halt. “I think our destination should just be ahead” Link said staring forward before hopping off of Epona. Standing by the side of the horse, Link looked up at Zelda and smiled, holding up his hand and offering it to help her off the horse. “Shall we?” Link asked

She chuckled lightly at his gesture, it was really quite bewildering to her as to why he was so willing to make this promise to her. Still, she tried not to over think it as Epona had suddenly come to a stop - there was a thick path ahead and there was no way a horse could navigate through it easily. When Link had stepped onto the ground, he immediately turned to give her a hand to which she smiled lightly, taking his hand gently as she then got off herself.

The woods were definitely much thicker than she expected - the depictions of the woods in the stories made it seem more of an open maze. Looking around curiously, she... really didn't know where she was. "This is the part that's tricky..." she sighed. "These maps are outdated and this forest seems a lot thicker than it used to be..." she almost felt embarrassed, as if she wasn't well prepared - truth was, these were all the records her advisers had given her.

"We do have to keep going this way though, the forest temple is within a thick grove, kind of like this," she nodded as she stepped forward, peering past a few thick trees. She tried to keep her mind focused, looking around intently when she suddenly heard what seemed to be a whistling instrument... though it was so faint, she could barely hear it. "The music," she huffed out in relief. "It's this way!" she pulled on his hand, quickly treading through the thick weeds in the path.

Taking Epona any further would not be an option as it seemed it would prove to be more difficult for the horse. Link was fine with leaving the horse here as he knew she would be able to take care of herself. Once Zelda accepted his hand, Link helped the princess off of Epona’s back and stared forward starring forward at the forest. For the most part Link was following the cues of Zelda’s maps however the path up ahead seemed quite complex.

Taking a step forward, Link crossed his arms and tilted his head, trying to think about where to go first, however he listened to Zelda and nodded his head over at her. He began to prepare to walk forward, however he stopped the very moment he heard music. His eyes widened a bit at the sound and he suddenly began to close his eyes and listen to the music in an attempt to locate the source of the music.

Link eventually begun to pick up where the sound was coming from but immediately Zelda grabbed his hand. “wh-whoa!” Link said as his eyes widened as he was dragged along. Picking up his pace, Link ran alongside the princess. “This song…” Link said. It was a song quite familiar to him, something…precious, but even so he could not recall it.

"It's getting louder I think..." she murmured as she suddenly jolted to a stop. The path had suddenly split into three different directions and she looked around desperately. She wasn't sure why, but she was suddenly in such a hurry... the hysteria was being brought on by the madness of the Lost Woods. She felt overwhelmed almost - as if she really was lost, despite them going in the same direction over and over.

She looked around, trying to find the music, but it suddenly stopped and she turned to Link. "I can't hear it anymore..." she sighed. Perhaps it was because her mind was suddenly overwhelmed by the madness, and she just couldn't focus anymore. "Do you hear it anywhere?" she bit her lip. If they got lost in here, they were in trouble. They barely had enough equipment for overnight.

They continued to rush forth, through the maze life forest and into the deep center of the land. The lost forest was truly proving why it was called such a thing and with the sudden stop of the music Link and Zelda were in a dangerous situation. There had absolutely no idea where they would be going and if they blindly just moved on they would potentially find themselves wandering through the forest until they starved to death.

Releasing Zelda’s hand he took a step forward and stood into the middle of the forest. They had only just entered the forest and Link seemed to already have proven himself not to of been the best of escorts. His main task was to protect the princess, but even now he had no idea where to go. They couldn’t just turn back as there was even a chance of getting lost doing that as well. This whole entire maze like forest was suffocating and he could see that some would go mad just exploring these forest. He gritted his teeth, however a cool breeze blew by and Link closed his eyes.

He needed to calm himself. Panicking or getting upset was something that definitely would not work out. He closed his eyes attempting to cool his mind. He raised his head, his face looking upwards as his eyes remained closed and then he began to whistle. A foreign song that he had never heard before in his life, but felt so familiar. Link whistled the very same song that had been faintly playing earlier and once he was done, his eyes immediately widened as he quickly looked over at Zelda “This way” Link said grabbing her hand and pulling her along with him as he took a right. He began to run, moving in different directions as the maze continued, seemingly sure of where he was going. He couldn’t explain it, but it was like something was directing him towards his destination.

Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION] Empty Re: Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION]

Zelda looked around quietly, trying to listen, but her mind was all over the place and she wasn't sure what to do. Had she been in a situation like this before, maybe she'd have handled it better, but she had never even left the city on her own before today. She stayed quiet, pursing her lips tightly together as Link's hand suddenly withdrew from hers as she looked around.

There were too many sounds going on at once in these woods. The sounds of birds, crickets, creatures, the wind... it was all swirling around, causing her to look in every direction, listening for the wrong things. Suddenly, Link began to whistle the tune from before and she slowly turned her face to him, watching him quietly as he looked around. He then turned to her, grabbing her hand as he quickly pulled her along.

What a relief, he knew where he was going. She stayed by his side tot he best of her ability, not letting go of his hand as they turned down the winding paths, and the music seemed to come back, more loudly. "Oh thank the goddesses..."

Link was not exactly sure that the direction he was heading was the correct one and he was only following the feeling he had inside, but that was all he had at moment. If he desired to escape the forest and reach their destination they’d need even a tiny bit of guidance, something that Link believed he was being given at moment. He held Zelda’s hand tight and firm. In such a place he could not afford for them to be separated and he dared not wish to leave the princess alone. The very sound of music returned and gotten stronger and stronger as they ran, it gave them the sign that they were going on the right path.

Sure this music could have potentially been a trap that would lure the two blindly into peril, however that thought did not slip through Link’s mind and he continued to follow the sound quickly before it disappeared. Turning and entering many different pathways, the two eventually entered a final exit. Slowing down, Link began to look around until they made it out into an open space in the forest, a single path now ahead of them. “I think we managed to get out of the maze…” Link said.

Zelda had come to a stop the moment Link had slowed down, looking around. The maze seemed to become more clear with the single path, leading up to a set of very old stone steps. Aged and full of history, there was a bit of an eerie vibe that gave off from it. Biting her lip slightly, Zelda removed the hood of her cloak from her head, taking a deep breath.

"She must be up ahead then. The temple is just up these stairs in a sacred grove," she nodded as she squeezed his hand lightly, taking a step forward. She couldn't deny that her nerves were getting to her. She understood that as a princess she had many duties, but she never imagined anything like this. Being the reincarnation of the goddess had many responsibilities, and having to awaken the sages was not going to be easy to do. She required the hero to guide her.

Link stared on upon the stairway that lead to their destination. Just what awaited them past those stairs? He couldn’t exactly say what it was. The sage of the forest dwelled in the temple, but what business did the princess have with the sage? It surely must have been important if it involved a sage and it surely was connected with the vision that the princess had and warned the kingdom about.

If Zelda was right, then a big fight would be on it’s way and they would need all the info they needed if they wished to prepare for it. Link looked on determined, but suddenly felt the princess squeeze his hand tightly before they continued to walk on. He looked down at the hand that held the princess and then looked up at the princess’ face. “Are you nervous?” Link asked before giving her a reassuring smile. “Don’t be, I’ll be by your side. Nothing will happen to you and we’ll get through this” Link said.

Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION] Empty Re: Escort and the Hero [Private - MISSION]

Post by Saria Sun Mar 15, 2015 2:14 am

Saria sat upon her stump, playing her song without a care in the world...Or...maybe that wasn't exactly true...Today she had allowed her Caster Group of Kokiri to train themselves WITHIN THE VILLAGE...The fairies would inform her if they left, and that was all she needed to know they would behave...And thus that gave her a chance to finally revisit her secret spot for the first time since this mess began.

Ever since the incident of Yorrel's death she had been a bit on edge though she managed to put on a brave face for the rest of the Kokiri. She had been working hard with Mr. Chase, and Mr. Axel to train the immortal children to prevent further incident, but...She couldn't help but worry...She knew they had good intentions...But she couldn't help but shake that there would be consequences for this...But...It was the right thing wasn't it? To prevent another tragedy...

In fact, that was another thing that had her on edge...The Woods had been rife with visitors lately. More so than they ever had been in years. While not necessarily a bad thing...After all, Mr. Chase, and Mr. Axel certainly had their hearts in the right places. And Mr. Konnungr had been an absolute joy to speak to, despite his initial unwillingness to speak...Re-meeting Perseus had been one of the biggest joys she had experienced in years as well!...But then...There was that...that monster that had killed Yorrel...And the creatures had been informing her more and more of late of other travellers...Travellers that she read through the voices of the Wood had black hearts, and thus no reason for her to aid them. So long as they stayed away from the Kokiri Forest, and from their main training grounds in the Woods.

And that's what was so frightening. There should NOT have been so many travelers about. These Woods were lost for a reason...It could only mean...The spell that the Deku Tree had cast so long ago was beginning to fade...

She was jostled from her thoughts as another fairy flew to her with news of more strangers traveling within. It was here she closed her eyes, reading the presence of the two who had entered...Before snapping them open again with a gasp, stopping her song. The presence felt...familiar...As if she had met these two before...But in a way, not really...It also felt as if the two were coming towards her spot.

The good news, however, was that these two...seemed great in virtue...Moreno than most. And thus she made a decision. Sending the fairy off with a thanks, she continued to play...Guiding the pair to her. She felt them grow closer...Until finally they were right in front of her.

The girl put down her ocarina, but didn't open her eyes. "So you've finally arrived...I've been waiting..." she stated with a somewhat childish giggle...Before opening her eyes...And being overcome with a multitude of feelings she couldn't quite explain.

Shock? Grief? Disbelief? They swirled around her as she stood. "Princess...?" she looked to Zelda for a moment before turning her attention to the young man..."B-Brother?" she asked looking to Link for a good moment...Wanting to go and hug the two then and there...But then she pulled herself back to reality.

"No...You're not the Princess Zelda I knew...And you're not the same Link I knew...They're long gone..." she sighed, shaking her head still not wishing to accept it. I am right in assuming that's you're name, correct?" she asked with a bittersweet smile to the man.

She stopped. Zelda just stopped where she was at the edge of the stairs, staring at the young girl--the sage of the forest--and stared in bewilderment. She had almost forgotten to breathe as she squeezed Link's hand once more, her heart racing. Not only was this from the anxiety of meeting the last surviving sage of the past several ages, but... "How... no, that's..." she almost wasn't sure what to say.

She slowly turned her head to Link, unsure how to process what just happened. Saria actually thought that he was the hero. If she could read their auras, then maybe... but could he really be? She swallowed hard, staying silent for a moment and then looked back at Saria. "....Y-You think he's..." she finally spoke, still unsure what to say, not even sure if she can finish the sentence.

So this was the fabled sage of the forest. To be honest it was a bit surprising to see such a young child as a sage, however even so there was a sense of wisdom that came from the girl before him. Even with this feeling, the thing that was much stronger of a feeling was that of a strange nostalgia that he just could not put his finger upon. All these feeling he felt, the pure unknown feelings, they were starting to harm his mind. It was all so foreign, however he couldn’t falter now, not when the princess was with him.

The sage called out their names, however even though she claimed she was not the one she believed they were, Link’s eyes widened a bit as she still knew that his name was Link. Using his free hand to point at himself, Link tilted his head a bit confused “Yes…that’s my name…though it’s a pretty common one…” Link said. The very name of the hero that saved the world numerous times, of course many parents would wish for their child to be great and what better way than to name their son after the very hero. Link himself was nothing special, a mediocre knight who merely did what was needed. For him it was truly difficult to believe he was any form of hero.

The sage couldn't help but frown as she watched Zelda's anxiety attack, the princess stumbling over her words. Poor noble girl...She must have been going through a lot...It was a far-cry from the Zelda she had known all that time ago. She had always carried herself with a dignified air, voicing her thoughts calmly and briskly knowing exactly what she wished to say...It was honestly a trait the Sage had envied...But this wasn't the same Princess. She had to keep reminding herself of that. This was her descendent she was speaking with. And thus she knew she had to go about this in a different way.

"Your majesty..." she began, giving a small bow. "I know you're nervous...Surely something terrible must be happening for you to be here...Even more if you brought him along with you..." she took another look to Link, before looking to the princess again. "But please...I must ask you to calm down...There's only so much I can do to help you with you in this state." she tried to comfort the princess to the best of her ability...Even if it wasn't much.

She then looked to Link as he explained his name, was in fact, Link. She couldn't help but smile to him as he told her that the name was actually quite common. "Good to know he left a legacy! I remember his name being the most foreign thing many had ever heard!" Gate laughed at Saria's side...The Forest Sage wasn't quite as amused by that...But did have to admit there was some truth to what she said.

"Please excuse Gate...She's not exactly the most tact fairy..." she shook her head before then stating "She is right though...Back then, Link was a rare name that not many knew about...It IS good to know that he hasn't been forgotten..." she gave a laugh.

But then Zelda stuttered out a question that she could only guess what she was trying to say...And if she was right, that was actually quite a surprise. She looked to Link again before back to the princess.

"The reincarnation of the Hero of Time?" she asked, finishing the question before giving a nod. "Oh I don't think that, Princess...I KNOW that!" she gave an encouraging smile. "I would know the aura of my brother anywhere!...Honestly I thought you two already knew...Bringing him here..." she pondered in thought, placing a hand to her chin.

Zelda took a deep breath, trying to stay calm as she listened to Saria carefully. Saria could read the uneasiness that was going through her mind, to which she took a deep breath and looked down. "The King has died. And I have a vision of a great evil coming for us." There was a silence again as Link had spoke of his name being common. This was true, she had met multiple Links in the past, though none of them seemed to give much respect for their namesake. The Link whom she was with now, showed the most courage and humbleness that she has ever come across.

Then Saria spoke. The reincarnation of the Hero of Time. The Hero of Time. He was the most famous of all the heroes--the one who spoke the most volumes. Why? Because he was just a child. Just a small boy thrown into a battlefield and he saved the world.... and Saria was insisting that the man next to her was his reincarnation. She turned and looked at him again, still with a bit of awe struck onto her face as she stayed quiet for a long moment.

She started from his hair, to his eyes. Something about those eyes were very familiar to her and she could never pick out why. Then to his lips, the way he spoke. There was such calmness and optimism in his words, and he was devoted to her protection. "So it's true..." she murmured. "That familiarity, then... it's because you're him. You're my hero..." she then looked back at Saria, taking a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "Impa would have come with me, but she is on business with Labrynna. I had met Link some time ago while he was training and I just... I trusted him, which is why I asked for his aid."
