A Beginners Guide?

Post by Guest on Tue Mar 03, 2015 12:26 am

So now that I've got an accepted character, and everything.... Now what? Though information for systems and the shop are available, I guess a play-by-play would be asked so I can go about with as little hiccups as possible. So here are a few questions, and hopefully, somewhere, a beginner's guide, for character creation, mission structure and execution, and other things beginners should know about, can be constructed. Little helpful things like that will definitely help newcomers and the forgetful alike, as well as those less inclined to vocalize their mistakes or curiosity.

--Upon character creation and approval are we given starting items, such as weapons? I noticed we got 3k rupees but... not good for much, as I search around, right?

--When missions are made, by the poster themselves, they are assigning exp and rupee rewards themselves. To cut out trial and error, what makes for the best rewards, and an agreeable word to rupee conversion?

--A dungeon? How are these made and done? Dungeon Masters? Personalized roles? Class specific goals? I like the sound of it, but I don't understand much about them; How they're made, how they're done, and if there are class compositions that are required.

--Missions and dungeons are the ONLY way to generate funds to spend on glamorous items? While I'm not sure what other sources of income there would be, if there is any other interesting ways to get some cash, I'm all for it.

--Though not mainly for me, since I know the drill, but when people look for RP with a new character, what's the run-down, for this site and the best way to communicate/coordinate?

Hello! I hope I can answer your questions as clearly as possible ^^

Each member, depending on race and class, starts out with presets. Seeing as you're a human knight, you are able to start out with one free non-magical weapon and shield. You are also given two abilities (not spells of magic). These can be special moves for your weapon or a physical move/skillset.

As for missions, I've noticed that 50k usually works for 750 worded posts (or 150 words for 5 posts). Each amateur mission gives you 75 EXP.

Dungeons are currently closed, as we are still creating a system for them.

But yes, missions and dungeons are the best ways to receive items and money. ^^

I hope this helps!

I'd like to add that, in regards to your last question, the best way to go is most likely to ask around in the chat box, or via PM. Make sure to discuss what will happen in the RP, so that it isn't just random small-talk.

-- Regarding the character sheets, are the players themselves allowed to edit it, or do we need to get all of our weapons and abilities, including beginner weapons, approved by someone before being added?

-- Also, when updating character info from the original creation post, how is that handled? Do we put in a request for an update to the post?

Changes of any sort will require some form of approval before they can be implemented to use; but it is generally a quick procedure.

MOAR questions as they come up!

--So I've been told items you hold can have up to 3 abilities. If you're a duel-wielder/knight with a sword and shield, you initially can have 6 abilities, not innate spells or one's your character has, just ones the weapons unlock, correct?

--Armor ALSO unlocks 3 abilities of it's own? As well as the additional armor ability slots for 4, or does it start out with none?

-- My name color changed. What do these indicate about my profile?

-Not exactly. You just get 3 abilities with multiple weapons.

-No clue on that one.

-Your name color indicates your character's position/Kingdom/Race.

When making a character, do I need to put the name of the person who made a piece of artwork on my profile in the 'Face claim' section?

Your armor starts with none, and can unlock 3 down the road.

You do not need to link to the artist, just the series the character on the artwork is from.
If the artwork is specially crafted artwork for your character, you also do not need to. Since it's your character.

HOWEVER; if it is from some persons personal series, then yes, you probably should link to them&their series page or wherever it's hosted.

Ok, there is a picture I really want to use but I can't find the artist or actual source. What should I do?

Does the picture not have tags or anything?

You could try a reverse image search on google...

But if you really can't find anything, then don't worry about it. I mean, I'm willing to help to find the sources too (just message the picture over) if you need it.
