Aberham was heading home.

When he got a letter from his family along with all of his usual job offers. He brushed them all to the side and read the letter from his parents. For it was more important to him then all the other letters combined. He cut it open with a knife and read the words scribbled onto cheap parchment. It was of poor penmanship that reminded him of the lists of chores he would be given at home.

"Dear son.

Come home boy! Its been a year since we seen you last! You can't just keep going for a drink with your brothers once a month and forget about us! We miss you, if you're really hurting for work there is a beast out an about. We've been finding patches of soil scorched and with big enough footprints to make your mother believe a dragon was about. Come down here and take care of it! You remember when a dragon burned down our fertilizer shack all those years ago! I you aren't here your mothers poor little heart might give out from fright. You're a big strong hero, come and help us!

With love.
Arnold barric. "

He hopped on his horse Joey and made his way for home. It was a rather long trip through the Hyrule fields, but it was made faster by the fact that he knew the way so well. By the next morning he met his father who was distributing the fertilizer across one of the four large fields of dirt. He knew his old man well, and knew he would not get a word out of him if he did not work for it. He took off his expensive metal gauntlets and replaced them with a pair of thick leather cloves. His father was about as tall as him, and they shared the same brown hair and eyes. After a few minutes he said to his child:

OOC: I will be the proctor for your exam. RPing as your father, as requested from you.

It was a nice and calm morning in the land of Hyrule. The sun was continuing to rise up which signaled birds all around to chirp a song as beautiful as the last day, the day before that, and well, everyday! in the Hyrule fields somewhere sat a big house suited for 11 people and any visitors if needed. This house wasn't just a regular house either. These people were running a farm, a dirt farm to be exact, which is basically making the soil all 'nice and spiffy' if you had to sum it up in a few words. The king and queen of this dirt farm were none other than Al and Alice. They have had about 12 kids, 9 still on the farm, and were happy farmers. Discipline was quite high towards the children, but respect was needed. It wasn't like they hated their parents because of this though. They all knew what needed to be done, and didn't cry too much about it.

"95...96...97...98...99..." Al got to while doing push-ups on the side of his bed, before he was rudely interrupted by his just-waking wife Alice.

"Al! Can you not count so loudly! You know that old people need as much sleep they can get right? Well, some old people," the woman mumbled that last part. Al sighed and decided to stop for now. Besides, there was work needed to be done in the fields today!

"You know honey, I need everyone's help today, so 'old people' can get some sleep later," he responded, then stepped into his bathroom to wash up. Afterwards he stepped into a pair of new overalls he bought from the nearest clothes shop, then began waking up his 9 children, calling out each name as he banged on their doors.

"Abian and Acton!" knock, "Abernathy!" knock, "Addison and Aden!" knock, "Abelard!" knock, "Ashly!" knock knock(twice because this one was rather hard to wake up with just one), "Aaron!" knock, "and Aaron!" knock knock knock(this one too, but with three knocks), "Wake up!" he shouted after knocking on all of their doors while walking down the hall towards the kitchen. He was going to wait for them there, and he would be the only clean one of course, since there was so many and it would take forever for anything to be done, so they just washed up at night only. There they were, running down the hall because only the first 3 got the best seats, while all the others got the ones that made weird noises whenever you even moved. Al got angry at that, hence why there was a rush for the best. Of course, the 3 fastest children got the good seats(Aaron Aden and Ashly respectively), which everyone was not surprised by, but they still tried everyday. Before they got into their seats however, Al already had out breakfast, which were multiple boxes of cereal. They always were running low on milk, so Al tried to cut out on it all at once.

"Pop! Is it true that Aberham is supposed to be coming today?" asked Abernathy, the curious one of the group.

"Why yes son, you are correct. Don't bug him too much though, because he is on a job as soon as he arrives," Al replied.

"When I am as old as Aberham I want to kill stuff too!" shouted Acton, which was odd because he probably didn't even know what it meant to really kill someone.

"Now now Acton, calm down. I don't need you talking about that stuff till you're older," the father said to him. For the next 10 minutes there was an onslaught of chatter going on. Multiple kids trying to trade the cereal they got in there bowls while the older ones talked about girls, which made Ashly angry because they never said anything nice. After that was done, the 10 people at the table were done eating and got out into the field to do some work. Al was distributing the fertilizer across one of the four large fields of dirt when he saw his son for the first time in a year. Alberham got off of horseback and put on thick leather gloves, ready to work since he knew how his old man was with that kind of stuff. Al walked forward to shake his hand.

"It is great to see you son! After a year it kind of gets lonely when even one of my kids are gone, heheh," he said to him, smiling. "Anyway, why don't you get that goddamn helm off of your head so I can see the face of the man I raised!" he added. "Also, we better talk about business in the shed first. Your siblings are eager to meet you, and that isn't the best thing that should be happening right now. You can talk to them afterwards, so let's hurry!" he said, pushing his son along to the small building across from the fields.

The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel) Empty Re: The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel)

Aberham was happy to see his father, he shook his recently cleaned and dirtied hand and cursed himself for leaving for so damn long. For one reason he was glad to see his family and for the other he was no longer nose blind to the smell of cheap fertilizer! He took his heavy helmet and lifted his helm off, it was then that he realised that he basically only took the thing off to eat and sleep. Gods he needed to get out more.

His brown hair and brown eyes were a staple in almost every boy you could see out on the field. The one exception being his sister who's brown hair was significantly darker. He was glad to see his old dad though and laughed with him when he talked about not seeing him in such a long time. He walked over and strapped his helmet onto his horse, Joey. With the exception being the horse that the family would rent every harvest season his siblings had never seen many horses. The horse looked nervous, if he saw those kids coming at them with their filthy mits he swore briefly to himself that he would run for the hills. Aberham noticed him being a little flighty and a stern look was enough to quell any idea's of escape.

His father was really in a hurry to get him to work! He was reminded of his old mans physique when his feet dragged on the fine dirt leading up to the shed. They passed by a big fast circle of fresh ash that they would not be able to take to market this year. The dragon had clearly been about. Once inside he looked at the marvel of equipment needed to tend to so much dirt. The amount of de-weading equipment alone inside the small building would be enough to arm a pesent revolt!

"So tell me father, how bad is it? None of my brothers have gotten hurt have they?" The very idea worried him, they seemed fine enough when he walked by, but who knows if they had a crap ton of bandages and dragon teeth under them all. Protecting his family and their farm was his number one priority.

The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel) Empty Re: The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel)

Once the two got past the fields, good and burnt, and went into the shed, Aberham asked if his siblings didn't get hurt by this dragon that Alice claimed she saw.

"Uh, no, no one yet. Usually he likes to attack at night. I don't know much about it myself, because you know I am a heavy sleeper, but your mother swears she hears fire out in the fields and a roar like it came out of a beast that wasn't a simple tiger or anything like that. Some of the kids thought they heard something like it as well," Al informed his son. "So basically, if I were you I would wait till night to get ready and fight this dragon, if it exists. For now you can be a real Barrick again and help us with the field! Now go out there and say hello to the rest of your family while completing a hard days work! Ma should be out there too by now," he added, and with that he walked out of the shed, hoping Aberham would follow.

Addison and Aden swore they saw two bodies go into the shed, so they informed the rest of their brothers and sister. Because of this, the 9 of them were all in front of the shed ready for an attack. Once they spotted their older brother, they would sweep him off his feet with a barrage of hugs and words like 'Welcome home brother!' or 'You owe us a year of hard work!'

"Now now children, don't kill your brother just after he got home," Alice would say as she walked out of the house and towards her many children. Once close enough she would slither her way through the kids and give her son Aberham a nice warm hug.

"How have you been this last year Abe? I was worried about you, you know!" she shouted as she embraced him, a tear coming down her right eye.

Aberham agreed with his fathers plan. This way he could enjoy the day with his family and at night when he did have to fight the beast his siblings would be free from danger. He was relieved to hear that no one had been hurt yet, he had lived a very violent year since he left the farm.

When the doors open he was glad to see his family, but immediately went down in a sea of hugs and kids who wanted to feel up the runes on his armor that were a telltale sign of enchantment. He was most exited to see his mother however, and returned her embrace. "Oh don't worry about me! There was some danger here and there sure. But I could always handle it. You did not raise a sissy boy!" It was then he missed his helm. For when he returned her hug he wished he could allow a single tear of his own to fall down without anyone seeing.

After he had gave everyone their own individual hug (wether some wanted it or not) he addressed all of them. "Now who's ready for another backbreaking day of work!" Spreading the fertilizer was the second hardest part of the year. They could not just get dry dirt and pour poop on it and expect it to sell! No, it was but a single step. They also had to ensure no harmful plants sprouted up while constantly weeding and avoiding any sort of pestiside on half of the fields because they could label that dirt organic and sell it for three more rupees on the pound.

It was clear his help would be wanted, and he was looking forward to having his armor do some of the work for him. But once he took one of the biggest, heaviest sacks over his shoulder he was reminded of why he preferred fighting for his life on a daily basis then to spread around manure. This job would have to be done piece be piece over the course of weeks. He resolved to stay after his knightly work and help for a week or two with the bulk of the work.

He smelled the rich, open fields of dirt and really felt like he was home.

Al smiled as most of his family were next to him, being happy. He may have been hard on his children, but that didn't mean that he did not love them more than anything else in the world. He loved dirt farming for multiple reasons, a main one being that he could work with the people he loved. No job that required him to leave, because that wasn't what he wanted.

"Now who's ready for another backbreaking day of work!" Abe shouted after he was done saying hi to his siblings and mother.

"You heard the man kids! Let's get to work!" shouted Al in reply, and with that all 12 of them went off to work in the field. They began by spreading the fertilizer across the field, and everyone knew how important it was to get it right. Every now and then some of the children would end up playing instead of working, which means Al put his good ol spanking hands to usage, which helped. For hours they would keep working on the field, taking breaks when needed.

Once the sun showed signs of going down, Al went to go speak to Aberham while still woring on the field.

"So, Abe. In an hour or two, it will be dark out. Just tell me when to, and me, your mother and your siblings will be in that house." he informed his son. He then began to get emotional, but showed no tears in his eyes. "I am begging you to protect this family. It is the only thing we got around here, you know? I also want you to stay safe out there if you can," he added, then patted Abe on the shoulder and continued to work.

You don't have to be father, this is what I was born to do. Abe wanted to say. He want back to his work and only stopped about twenty minute before sundown, which was twenty minutes early. He knew the beast would be out soon. He walked back over to his father and called his horse around who had been eating some delicious weeds a field away and didn't want to come. It's training prevailed however, and in seconds Abe was swapping out his work gloves for his battle gauntlets and strapping on his sword and helmet.

He tapped him on the shoulder once he was ready. "Ok it is time for you to take the others and flee to the safety of the house. Lets put all of this equipment away or else it might get torched in the coming battle. What I am about to say is very important, do not let anyone go to bed for any reason. It would be most safe to turn off all the lights and take shelter in the cellar. If that old clock we got down there still works then do not come out until morning or until I come by and open it. The dragon could get agitated by the wounds I am inflicting and would go to the nearest source of heat to bask and regain its heat. It is a nocturnal creature but it is cold blooded despite his flames. I will kite it as far away from the fields as I can but they do not like straying to far from their nests and if I lead it to far away I could loose it. If dawn comes and I still have not come to you then call my horse Joey by its name, he should come to you if he still lives. Take him and make you way to castle town, it is less than a full days travel from this place if you only rest to drink, pee, and eat. Don't try and fight it unless it breaks in, if I cannot take it then you fighting it should be a last resort. But if you do fight hard, they can track their prey for miles. Looks like all those monster books you got me for holiday didn't go to waste eh?"

He went to go fetch the now nearly empty fertilizer cart and pull it into the shed himself. Before he said goodbye for what might be the last time he hugged his father like he had done so many years as a boy, and lifted him up off the ground for a full second.

The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel) Empty Re: The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel)

Post by Oliver Windhelm Thu Feb 26, 2015 10:55 am

OOC: Ok, transitioning into the role of a dragon to fight the exam taker as he requested.

It was now nightfall, and all of the beautiful shining stars came out to attempt to put a smile on those that looked at them and began to wonder what was out there in the big universe. In most cases, this was the only thing good that happened at night for various farmers the past few weeks. Sure there had alwasy been maybe one or two stalfos walking past farms all the time, but they weren't interested in crops and whatnot, so they simply passed it. This monster that recently showed up however did take interest. It flew over his target, and when he got his insides ready he would hurl balls of fier at the ground, scorching the fields and burning anything that was growing at the moment. He was a smart beast too, because he knew he could wreck houses as he pleased, but he didn't want that. He wanted his victims to suffer because they  couldn't grow anything long enough to sell, and then when it seemed luke all hope was lost, he would seal the deal and destroy their home, most of the time with them in it.

This beast was best classified as a Drake, which indeed is the sub-class of a dragon. All that meant was that he was smaller and dealt a bit less damage than they did, butbecause of this he was really quick, and his fire breath was strong enough to do what he did best, which was runing the lives of others, so that is all the power he needed. He had hard scales on his back that was hard as metal, and he had very good night vision which is why he hid in a cave during the daytime, because during the day, just about everyone could see clearly, and that wasn't fun at all. He was about 20 feet tall from snout to toe, and his tail was about 5 feet long. Each of his wings were about 5 feet as well.

There he flew, closing in on a dirt farm that he had been scorching for about 2 weeks. He wasn't done ruining there lives, but he was just feeling to excited today to let that house stand. Another reason as to why he might want to destroy it prematurely was the fact that he flew through all of those windows, and after just a few days he knew that there was about eleven people, which was the most he was ever able to target. The joy of that made him decide he would kill them all this very night. As he was now circling the dirt farm however, he saw a man in armor standing on the field with a sword and shield strapped to his body. This was odd to the beast. 'Had they called upon a mercenary to kill a drake?' he thought. He immediately laughed at this. No human has ever bested him in combat, but if the warrior wanted to pick a fight, he would gladly give it to him.

"You, there! Are see you are standing out, waiting for me? If I were you I would crawl back onto that house and wait to get destroyed, heheh," The drake said, getting closer and closer to the ground until he was hovering above the man a few meters with the helping of his wings that were currently flapping at fast speeds.

Post by Aberham Thu Feb 26, 2015 12:56 pm

Aberham was on the back of his steed, lance drawn and sheild strapped onto his left arm.  He called out to the dragon, on some ways he was glad it could talk like those in the fables he read as a boy. It could be reasoned with. In other ways he was not. He had developed a distaste for direct murder after he had murdered his own brother. He was not looking forward to putting anything down that could think for itself.

He looked it directly in the eyes and told him "In ages long past farmers would offer tribute to dragons in exchange for not burning their homes down. I am here to tell you you will have no such thing. My name is Aberham Barric the third oldest son of Al Baric. And if you threaten my family for a single second longer!... " he hopped up onto the back of his horse and pointed his spear directly at the heart of the beast, his hand did not waver a fraction of an inch. "Then I will kill you and wear you hide as a trophy you MONSTER!"

While his curage and delivery of this speech was unwavering he predicted the beast would not listen, as not one of his foes had done so. He prepared a basic shield spell mentally to block a fire blast.

Instead of listening to this drake and going into the house, this warrior stood firm and began to speak about how some farmers were sissies giving away people in order to be safe from the dragon, and that his family wasn't one of those farmers. He then added that if this dragon-like creature were to try.and hurt his family he would kill him. This draje laughed.

"Ha, you think that a mere human like you, can kill a drake? You must be foolih boy. Sure, real dragons are stronger than us drakes, but we still have the power to crush hundreds of you people! I, Dracul, will have you as dinner, then send your family after your soul!" Dracul shouted, ascending a few meters higher until he felt he was safe from the reach of the spear that the warrior got out after he hopped on his horse. Even if he could throw it, Dracul was a fast drake. He opened his mouth wide, and in the middle, a small orb if fire came to be. Every second it got bigger however, until it was a fireball with a 4 foot radius. Dracul then lifted his head up and then dropped it towards the ground, then shooting the fireball towards the knight. Once it hit something, smoke would arise, and with his cockiness Dracul would descend until he was just a few feet from the ground, wanting to gaze at the dead body. If however, the warrior lived, even he would be able to attack Dracul.

Abet ham wanted to attack Dracul mid sentence. He wanted to chuck his spear at his head or summon an axe. But such was not the path of honor! Since he made the dragon listen to his threats he humbly did not interrupt the wannabe dragon. He then saw as the dragon charged up a fireball, it would block his view of Aberam and took a few seconds to reach critical mass, if he could strike it while it was charging this attack later...

He had no such time to perform an attack now he realized, when the fiery blast came directly at him. He was already standing in a fiery crater from another one of the Drakes attacks. So his fleeing would not mean several pounds of dirt lost yet again. He chucked in close to his horse and spurred his horse to avoid the attack quickly. When he rushed forward, leaving horse tracks on the soil he saw the cocky dragon defend to just a few feet off the ground!

He could visibly see that the scales on his underbelly were not nearly as defended as the ones on his back. If he wanted to fight him on the ground he would need to exploit his weakness and make him suffer for it. Like any foe he had ever fought before. He took his spear in both hands and raked it across the Drakes belly. He wanted to enrage it, make him overextend in a counter attack while following him on the horse. He galloped on after the attack and ordered his horse to take a aside managers for the next attack.

While Dracul was waiting within the smoked area, suddenly the warrior came up on his right side and attempted to slash him with his spear. Luckily Dracul ascended enough so that his stomach wasn't entirely cut, but there was now a deep gash with blood dripping out. Drakes had a ton more blood then humans, so it was highly unlikely he would bleed out, but that did not change the fact that it hurt.

"Ouch! You dare hurt Dracul! You wil pay with your life you human scum!" the drake shouted, now flying towards the warrior on horseback at top speeds. He was shocked that he had been hurt by this man, but he understood why. He was cocky and thought that just one blast could kill him. Of course, that was the right thing to believe since one of his blasts could kill entire families, but it seemed that his opponent was either strong enough to defend, or he dodged the blast. The fact that his horse was that fast also shocked Dracul, but now he was flying at very fast speeds, gaining on the horse. "You can try to run away from me, but you won't succeed!" the drake shouted, a few meters above the horse now. Feeling that he had him this time, Dracule turned his head upward and began to fly in that direction, only to go into a dive a second later, then he did a front flip. The result of this is that his tail, which had the same hardened scale as his back, would be thrown towards the warrior and his horse, crushing them.

Post by Aberham Thu Feb 26, 2015 8:52 pm

Abe used the Chase to get as far away from his family as possible. They even had just left the field when Abe noticed the dragon winding up for an attack. He knew he should not try to dodge it, loosing his horse would be to much of a loss this early on. He turned around as far as he could and summoned a basic shield spell just slightly over his own shield. The tail slammed into them both, the spell could not stop such a mighty blow on its own. But it did take a large amount of the force before Abe had to. He guarded as strong as he could and his horse buckled. But they kept running and soon they were on top of a large but not very tall hill overlooking the farm.

Aberham turned around and pulled on the reins. Pulling his horse to a stop just ten yards ahead of the dragon. He sat there on horseback, spear raised and his horse breathing deeply. He would wait for him like a matador, using his spear defensively. If he could wait for him to overextend or get enough blows like the one he had on his belly to bleed out sufficiently for a big attack. He was not breathing very deeply at all, his horse had done most of the work and he had just swung his lance and blocked a mighty blow. He stared at his foes wound, and he dared to pull his helmet back and smirk at his foes weakness under the pale moonlight.

The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel) Empty Re: The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel)

Dracul's fierce tail attack was no good! The warrior at the last second created which seemed to be a shield made out of magic, and with that he used his own strength to repel the attack. This made Dracul angry, so he continued to fly towards the man, when he noticed that they were now on a cliff over-looking the farm He should have noticed when they turned and began traveling a bit upwards, but he was too busy enjoying the ideas of killing this guy. It seemed as if it was Dracul's enemy's idea to lure him away from the farm so he could fight without worrying, and the drake did not care to be honest, because no matter how far away they were, he knew his way back to his targets always. While he was thinking about these things, it appeared as if Dracul let the warrior get ten yards ahead of him, then all of the sudden he stopped and pointed his spear towards his enemy. Dracul also stopped, floating in the air a few feet above the man and exactly 7 yards away from him.

"Hmmm? You stop? Well, I guess this just makes it easier for me to kill you then, heheh" Dracul said. At this point, he doesn't want to attempt close combat because of what happened to his stomach, so instead he decided to open his mouth and shoot out a breath of fire. It was like a large flamethrower that attempted to encase his opponent inside of it. He stayed in the air where the warrior could possibly jump up and get him only because he was prepared this time if he somehow dodged it, and would even attempt to counter-attack.

As soon as the dragon opened his mouth for another fiery blast Aberham thought to himself NOW!. Then a throwing ax materialized net to his head and flew directly at the beasts mouth, through the flames which concealed it. If he missed then it would hit him in the shoulder most likely, and would make for a great handle for him to pull himself up on....

But right after he had to dodge this flamethrower! His steed dashed to the side and was soon out of range. He could feel the horse growing tired underneath him, and he stopped him sooner than he would have liked. He would have liked to get a bit farther away from the monster, but he had to be able to dodge. "You are the most pathetic Drake I have ever heard of. What? Got to burn down a dirt farm because you can't even bother an entire town. Your mother should have named you Jessica you have so little strength! SHE SHOULD HAVE FRIED YOUR EGG TO SAVE TIME! SHE SHOULDENT HAVE SLEPT WITH ANY OLD WASHED UP LIZZARD SHE FOUND IN THE GUTTER!" He would honestly keep going on if the Drake would let him. He was a dozen feet from the cliff, and in no danger of falling anytime soon.

He had so many insults gained from a life around foul people and fouler jokes he could just keep churning them out!

Dracul had the idea that the warrior would dodge his flamethrower, but he never thought about him actually throwing a weapon at the exact moment he began to breath fire. Due to the force the fire applied, the axe that was now coming towards Dracul's mouth actually landed in his right shoulder, blood spurting like crazy.

"Dammit! why must you cause me so much trouble!" he shouted, flying up and down the hill crazily due to the pain. He barely could think for a few seconds, and when his mind fully came back, he was several meters high in the sky. It must have been his reflexes to retreat, but now that he was in tact again, he descended, enraged that this mere human could cause him so much pain. He found himself flying towards the warrior yet again, and once he was just a few meters above him he began circling him, getting ready for something. Finally, after a few times around the warrior, he closed in and flew towards him, his belly inches from the ground so that his enemy couldn't possibly get him there. All he was trying to do this time was rush the man so he could get him to continue running, then catch up to him and perhaps take a bite, or roast him

This is what Aberham was waiting for! He commanded his horse to take off for one more dash away from the monster as it flew at high speeds towards him. They winded around the cliff as the dragon slowly caught up to them. When he was in spear range he instead put that weapon away, and instead got his broadsword to where he could reach it! Aberham jumped up on the back of his speeding mount and stood there for a moment, gathering his strength.

Before he could let his opponent realize what he was doing and let him react properly he leapt off of his horse and onto the side of Dracul with the ax lodged in! It was just stuck in the area where the scales hardened dramatically, and provided every inch of leverage he needed to pull himself up. He was glad he had not wasted an once of energy in the fight beforehand. He clambered up and grabbed a tuft of fur that stuck out of his scales approaching the dragons long neck, and held on for dear life!

Just when Dracul thought his opponent was going to run away from him, he ran at him! He thought that was odd, but what was even more odd was the fact that he stood up on his horse. Before Dracul realized what was going to happen, the warrior jumped off of his horse, and using the axe lodged into Dracul's right shoulder, he successfully go on his back and held on by grabbing some fur near one of his scales.

"What are you doing you fool! Get off of me so we can end this!" He shouted, but the warrior didn't yield. Dracul was hurting because of the pulled fur, but he tried to ignore the pain so he could finally defeat this human. Slowly but surely he ascended high into the skies, dozens of meters up, and when he thought he was high enough, Dracul flipped his body so his stomach was pointed up and stopped flapping his wings, beginning to fall.

"Foolish human! I will be hurt from this fall, but my scales will keep me from taking fatal damage, where as you will be smashed!" He shouted, as he shouted every other thing he said to his enemy. He brought his wings towards his stomach so that if the warrior tried to climb his way to it, he would get thrown off by the wings.

Aberham could not believe what was happening! He had only dreamed of doing this, never had he thought he would have the balls to pull it off! If ten year old Abe knew what he was doing he would have pooped his pants! But then came the agonizing ascent, as wing beat by wing beat they grew higher. Aberham knew what was going on way before he was told. He climbed onto the Drakes head, using a trial of fur that was seemingly designed for it and when they started falling so fast that his ears popped

He was ready

He punched Dracul three times immediately as soon as they started their dive. "GET. BACK. DOWN!" He said, it was exactly what he wanted. He was glad his armor gave him a bit more strength for the power he would need to be felt, let alone to cause pain. He felt like a hero of Hyrule that he had only ever read about as he took the monster by both horns and pulled.

And gods did he pull

The air whistled as they made their decent, his legs were rapped around his neck but as they twirled he worked his way up onto his knees. He pulled on those horns until he swore that they would fall off, but in the end, with great power, he preyed to all three gods and his lord Ganondorf that he could manage just one rotation, that he could just flip in once in the air. The big cushy skull with the only fur on the entire creature.

His horse darted out of the way when they landed, and once the dust cleared he saw...

As the drake was falling, it seemed that this warrior had something else in mind. He was now hanging on to Dracul's head, punching it about three times, which oddly was enough to cause him to get a headache. The wasn't all however, as he tried with all his might to pull him so that he would flip and land on his stomach. The warrior pulled his horns as well as put his legs around him, twisting. Dracul tried to fight back, but he was at his limit. Against his will he flipped just a few meters before impact, landing stomach first. This was not a fatal drop, but it definitely knocked the wind out of Dracul. Before he faded into unconsciousness however, he had a few words to say.

"You...you are the first human to successfully defeat me in... com... combat. Of course, that doesn't mean.. much. There are many beasts stronger than me, but, I believe with you... determination, you could learn to beat them as... well," He said before fading. Those words seemed as if he wasn't angry at the warrior, but proud that someone like that lived, with enough courage to face such a beast alone. He also envied that love he had for his family that made him want to protect them.

The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel) Empty Re: The Dragon Exam (Exam, me and Axel)

Post by Aberham Fri Feb 27, 2015 12:31 am

Aberhams ears were popped so bad he could just hear what the dragon had to say. He stumbled off of his head like a drunk man and collapsed for a few seconds, that fall was not easy. After he regained his strength he stood back up and looked at the defeated dragon before him. It would be wrong to kill it now, after he had so rightly earned his respect. He looked at its wounds, the shoulder wound looked like it would scab up real good but the belly injury (yes he did flip the dragon again) looked like he might want a but more help than R&R. He looked at his horse and at a storage shack which he knew they kept the dirt wagons in. It was just broad enough, just big enough, just stable enough to carry him back to the dirt farm. Aberham did tie him down so that he would not go rolling down the hill however, and personally helped his horse pull the wagon since he had done so much for him tonight.

He took the dragon all the way back to the door to the family cellar, he knocked three times and when his father saw a sweaty, grimy, knight with dragons blood on his armor who was still walking funny he had never been more glad to see his own son. The oldest of his younger siblings came out as soon as it was safe, while the younger ones fell asleep instantly as soon as they were given permission. Lizards can look surprisingly dead, since they don't breath much and at the best of times are cold to the touch. So when his only sister had been feeling Dracul's tail and it had twitched she and his mother had a panic attack. Aberham explained how he had kept him alive and he intended to do so for a while more. He asked his mother if she could help address his wounds. She was happy to help her son and after they washed away a ton of blood with towls they stitched up his underbelly with the thickest fishing line they had.

Dracul would wake up hours later, in the main storage shed for the family's dirt. Used hardly once a year during harvest season. It was plenty big enough for Dracul to even fly around a bit in. But once he lifted a wing and felt a dire weakness in it he knew that that was out of the question. He waited on a pile of comfortable sacks for a few minutes until Aberham came by with food and water. Their parents told him he could keep this "pet" if he took care of it. For the first few days they communicated very little. Dracul did not have the desire or the strength of heart to ask the victor of the fight why he was not cast off the cliff and forgotten.

Eventually though he asked Aberham exactly that when he swung around with some scented candles to make the smell much more tolerable. It was necessary for a creature with such a good sense of smell. To which Aberham replied "Because I am sick of killing monsters for no reason. I want to learn, to... become a better person. I feel bad for leaving you in such a state and you feel bad for being obligated to accept my help since you can still hardly stand. I am going to help you get better again and after that you walk. But I must ask something of you, if you would join me in battle. As an equal, not a pet. Then I would feel no greater honor."

That gave the Drake alot to think about. A week later, when the fertilizing season was coming to a close and Aberham was still there helping his family through such an ordeal he was surprised when the lizard agreed to his proposal and even offered to help with the work he was doing right now. Having a dragon instead of a single horse and a bunch of kids to pull the carts around and do the work really made an impact in what they could get done in a day. In five days, their second busiest time of the year was officially over. By then he was a part of the family (after he and Aberham cleaned out all the charred dirt out of their field with shovel and claw)

Before Aberham loaded up the horse to go back to Hyrule, where his work was. The Drake had one more thing to say to him. He whispered a word of power that could be used to call him almost anywhere into his ear. He told him of how he was going to stay in the dirt farm to protect it from any monsters like he had once been who would seek to destroy it. He pledged his loyalty to Aberham and after a Draconian friendship ritual of parting Aberham left with a single scale from Dracul, and to make things even a single brown lock of his hair was given to the dragon. So he would always be able to find his scent.

""Geeze, that was an ordeal.... I think I'll take up magic....."

He thought to himself as he waved his family and new friend goodbye.
